You’re trying to buy more than 10K gold worth of chak egg sacs?
If not, not sure how your proposed solution will solve your problem.
Chak egg sac is the aura , its worth more than 10k which is the problem

Their issue is that right now there are 8 buy orders for 10K with someone seeming to have two orders. The OP is forced to wait in line until the orders in front of them are filled or cancelled. Raising the cap would allow them to out more gold into the buy order in hopes to put it above everyone else’s.

Exactly what aryilana said, if i have the gold i should not be limited to how much i can spend it, forcing me to use forums to black market trade inorder to get it is not cool.

Looks like they made the same mistake as in Guild Wars 1 where trade was capped at 100k plat. People started using armbraces and ectoplasm as alternative forms of “cash” in player to player trade. To stop this from starting up again they should look into raising the trading post gold cap.
ANet may give it to you.
Or look into increasing the drop rate of items like that to bring down the price a bit.
The matter is, there are tons of players with over 10kgold that should be allowed to place more than 10k in the tradeing system.
The amount of gold players can earn has increased by a lot over the years. While 10K seemed like a lot when the game released, now it’s not so much for those that have been profitable/fortuitous. Some of the more rarer, and highly demanded items, are slowly creeping up to the existing cap. Eventually those items too could reach the cap and players would then have to wait in the queue to get their hands on those items.

Should? I think it’s only fair to say that are many players would would like to. Is it good for the game if the richest people can offer 20k instead of 10k? Is it bad for the game if they can’t?
I certainly wouldn’t mind if more aura/infusion items were in the game, if they were more accessible (higher drop rates or easier to transfer across characters or accounts). I don’t have anything against ANet increasing the cap.
Still, as always, I’m more interested in whether the changes would improve the game for the community and whether there are other things that ANet could tinker with that might improve the game more. This seems to be an example in which the richest are asking for a change that would make things better for them; it’s unclear how it makes the game better for the rest of us.
How many people in the game would ask for changes that didnt make the game better for them?
How many people in the game would ask for changes that didnt make the game better for them?
Why does it matter how many would ask of their own accord? ANet isn’t going to make changes just because we ask for them — they make changes to improve the game, usually for most of us, sometimes for a niche.
The point is: what makes this suggestion worth ANet’s effort, when there are so many other suggestions that they could work on?

If you believe another thread then Mystic Coins will soon be up at that cap. ;p
On a slightly more serious note, I see no problem with raising the cap.
Aside from thinking paying 10k for a stupid aura is beyond my understanding I am absolutely for an increase in trading post. The same problem was in GW1 with 100k limit.
Gold is fluctuating and it’s going down and down. People are much more richer than in 2012 where having 100g was a lot of money. I don’t understand why they limited it.
‘would of been’ —> wrong

Sounds like a better solution to me. Nothing should be “worth” 10,000 because of an incredibly low drop rate, IMO.
How would the total economy in GW2 change if some ppl now would be able to sell or buy for much higher amount of Gold then 10K? What kind of limits would ANet need to put on that kind of market, so it wouldn’t go out of control?
Talking about only one item like that Aura effect/Chak thing seem very egocentric in contrast towards that it would actually also have an impact for everything sold on TP. Rare and RNG based items will always have a high demand until it either get replaced by something else or that it is changed in how easy it is to get. Increasing the limit for how much Gold one can sell/buy for would only increase the bar to next level and then we are back from where we started and would again have next iteration of Gold caps on TP.
OP if you actually make use of market(s) outside of this game you are breaking the rules ANet set with you which you have agreed with when you created an account to play this game.

Allowing higher than 10k listing/orders on the TP wouldn’t make anything out of control or whatever. ANet doesn’t really have to do anything, they’re probably happy since every transaction takes out 15% gold from the economy which helps curb inflation.
I cannot think of a single reason to not support OP’s suggestion of allowing higher than 10k listings/buy orders outside of “more work” for ANet which is questionable at best.
I don’t have a chak egg sac nor do I want one. I mean if people are willing to pay 12k or more for one who am I to complain? They can spend their gold that way if they want and it has 0 impact on my gameplay.
Also you are completely wrong about trading outside = breaking the rules. There are no rules which say you must use the TP, trading via mail is totally fine BUT you bear the risk of being scammed. I’ve traded legendaries via mail before, bought a howler off my friend no problem. It’s just not recommended for obvious reasons which is why the OP is asking for a LEGITIMATE way to pay more than 10k without having the risk involved.

Most items won’t reach it.
When I bought mine I was in a “bid war” with 1 other guy, one day I figured I would try posting more than 10k so I entered 10,001 and to my surprise I found it on my tp the next day with 1 more bid at 10k… I unfortunately did not check if it took that extra 1 copper, but either it did, or 2 sold in under 10 hours and a new poster for 10k gold was added. I believe I outbid the first (yes he was their before I was) buyer by 1 copper, he took it off and reposted during the time I slept, or my previous 2 sold 1 new buyer theory is true can be the only possibilities. I would recommend seeing if you can add the extra gold or not regardless if its only posted as 10k flat (other numbers are probably hidden due to length of ammount.
Unsure if adding one gold does anything. Wont be home for awile to test it. Can anyone approve you can actually add 10001 gold to the tp ?
If the item you want to buy has a highest listing of10k gold and you bid 10k gold plus one gold, wouldn’t you then get an instant buy and a one gold refund? Since that guy didn’t get an instant buy with his bid greater than the highest sell price I doubt that the system takes it.
ANet may give it to you.
Curious if that would put you over the people who put in 10k flat.
Misread your comment. There is no sell listings for chak egg sac, only buy orders. There hasnt been any listed for quite awile now because everyones just selling off the forums for items because the value is greater than 10k at the current drop rate. My thought was if you can put a buy order in for 10,001 would that put you over the ones at 10,000

The reason why there are no listings for chak egg sacs at max amount when there are already buy orders at max amount is because the trading post will not allow a separate sell order to be placed if buy orders and sell orders are the same amount. You can only sell immediately to the first person in line to buy.
Buy order: 10k
Attempt to list to sell: 10k
Automatically sold.
