What does it mean when you go to list an item and it doesn’t list but instantly sells for the price you set……again…the price you set

example….

highest current buyer price is 2 silver
highest current seller price is 4 silver

I’m listing for 3 silver and it’s not being placed. It’s instantly selling and giving me the 3 silver minus fees.

thanks

someone hits the buy button right after you list your item.

I think in cases like that it means that someone put a buy order for the amount you gave – or higher, if there’s a bigger difference between your sell order and the lowest current seller price (not highest seller) – during the time since you opened the window and placed your sell order.

Basically:

  • You open Trading Post item window
  • Other person places buy order; your window does not update to reflect this
  • You place order for equal or lower than other person’s buy order
  • You get instant sell

Alternatively, it’s as Wanze said and the sell order is bought very fast after you place it.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
