Q:

There’s a lot of traits that say you gain an effect at a certain percentage of health. Some of them will say it has a cooldown, and others do not have a displayed cooldown.

I am assuming that ANet simply failed to give the cooldown on half of these traits, rather than assuming that there is no cooldown. Any confirmation, as well as information on what the cooldowns would be on unlabeled traits? I’m particularly interested in Final Shielding for Ele’s, although I’ve wondered about many other similar traits that provide some form of protection (like Desperate Decoy for Mesmers).

final shielding is most likely 90 seconds like pretty much every other ele %hp trigger

I’ve seen another guy’s thread on Final Shielding in particular, and he says he’s never seen it proc. I have to say, after trying it out for a day, neither have I.

One guy speculated he feels it procs more at the 10% mark than the 25%, but even still, I have not noticed it proccing. And I just played an entire match 1v1 against another Ele, not noticing it a single time.

Ive had it proc for me plenty of times while using it. It’s important to note that if the attack kills you from over 25% hp it wont apply. So if youve got 12k hp, then you must go under 3k hp without dying for it to proc. If you are at say 4k hp, and then take 4k damage it will not proc to save you.

In other words, pretty kitten useless.

Not only do you have to be lucky for it to proc but also choose an enemy that clobbers you down into it´s precise window of operation.

It works quite well on foes that kill you via strong degeneration. As you have a higher chance to proc it and then block their next few attacks. In place like fractal of the mists it can be a life saver, as the agony will usually proc it, automatically blocking any attack the boss would throw at you next, giving you time to heal.

Well I had 17k hp in my build at the time of making the post, and I now run with 23k hp, so we’ll see if I notice it now.

We still have no answer to the cooldown question, though. Are we all assuming 90 seconds?
