Hi guys, i am still new to this game. Just asking about it because before i start playing, i need to confirm this as i want to play with my friends in the same world. Since he hasn’t replied my text yet, i want to play this game 1st lol

You can transfer between worlds, but when you do ALL of your characters are transferred instead of choosing which character goes in which world. Fortunately, transfers are free at this time but have a 7 day cooldown. If you want to do WvW or outdoor events with your friend, you and your friend should discuss which world would be right for the both of you before starting out.

You can transfer once a week.

I’ve never done a server transfer, but I’m curious. Do your chars get transferred or deleted?

All your characters get transferred. Non deleted

server transfer is account based. you transfer server, you transfer everything connected to your account……

It used to be difficult to transfer, but ever since the Lost Shores patch, most of the servers are not “Full” even during prime time. Hooray ArenaNet!!

So chances are good the O.P. will be able to get on the same server. If not, one of the key features of GW2 is that you can play with friends on any server, any time, via guesting. This feature is coming Soon™
