Hello! I have a bunch of people that want to switch server mid season. Are they receiving the rewards of their starter server? Or the one they transfer to?

yeah according to the press release https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/get-ready-for-wvw-spring-tournament-2014/

basically the world you put the majority of your time into wvw, there’s supposed to be an npc that tells you what world your associated with currently

If they participated in WvW on the old server, they will have to wait 2 weeks before being able to WvW on their new server. (Don’t remember the source for this, sorry!)
I just rerolled a little over a week ago and am unable to play WvW. Really disappointing.

Well you can still do Edge of the Mists though. But yeah, you’re locked out of the original WvW maps for 2 weeks.

For the remainder of this match and the next, so if you transfer today you’re only locked out for 8 days.

There’s an NPC in WvW that tells you which server you will receive rewards for.
