As title states, it’s been removed already? Does it mean every skin you used in the past will be 100% guaranteed in the wardrobe pre-April15-feature-patch?

Not if you have destroyed or deleted them.

’What happens with gear that I currently possess that is already transmuted?

The skins for both of the items used in the most recent transmutation of your gear will be unlocked in your Wardrobe in this situation. This means that you will have skins representing your most recent stats and appearance choices for each transmuted item.’

and

‘Please note that skins or partials skins that you previously purchased but which you no longer possess will not be unlocked on your account. The Guild Wars 2 Support Team cannot unlock skins that fall into this category.’

Hope that helps. =)

I recently transmuted my Crimson Mask on top of my Mask of the Queen, for the ascended stats. Would I unlock both? Or does that override the ascended and Mask of the Queen skins?

You should have both items unlocked in the wardrobe as long as you still have the item with you when the patch comes.

I’m pretty sure you will get the ascended mask that provides the stats and the crimson mask but will lose the look from the mask of the queen since that was a skin and has now been overwritten by the crimson mask skin. At least, that is how it worked with trans-splitters and I’m pretty sure this will work the same way.

Nope, the blog post specifically states that transmuted items both skins would be unlocked.

What the blog specifically states is:

‘If you currently have items that have been transmuted, you will unlock the appearance for both the first item used for stats and the last item used for appearance in your final transmuted item. This means that if you have only transmuted a given item once (for example, if you’ve used a single Transmutation Stone to combine the appearance of Dawn with the stats of another greatsword) you’ll unlock the skins for both items in that transmutation.’

Note the emphasis on first and last.

What you may have been thinking of is:

‘If you have an item that has gone through skin progression, like a legendary weapon or one of the Spinal Blade backpacks from the “Escape from Lion’s Arch” and “Battle for Lion’s Arch” releases, you will unlock all of the skins in that direct line of progression. That means that if you made Twilight, you will have access to both the Twilight and Dusk skins across your entire account. If you’ve created the Dynamic Tempered Spinal Blades, you’ll unlock that skin and all previous Spinal Blade skins.’

That only applies to items with a direct progression.

The mask of the queen is a skin.

If that item was ascended, it could only be an ascended headgear, and all of them have the same skin. So you will unlock the skin of the ascended headgear and the skin of the Crimsom Mask.

The Mask of the Queen is gone forever, overridden by the Crimsom Mask, unless you used a splitter to remove it before applying the Crimsom Mask.

No, it said the skin that provided the stat and the skin that provided the looks. The mask of the queen did not provide that stats. It provided the look and was overwritten by the crimson mask.
