Transmutation Stone Rip-Off
I never remember that happening.
RIP City of Heroes
likewise…….
Same here. I can’t remember ever receiving a free transmutation charge for destroying a skin items. There is a reason why they take up my bank space…
Adding skins to the wardrobe doesn’t do anything but that. It adds the skin to your wardrobe and the skin item remains where it is (e.g. your bank slot). You can use the skin item to transmute the skin for free once. Until you decide to do that, the skin item takes up your space.
It would be a handy feature. However, I don’t think that has ever been in this game.
OP, you got a warning. You misremembered something that never happened, and now you’re mad about it. At no time were we ever refunded a transmutation charge for placing an object in the wardrobe.
And since you can easily get transmutation charges free by zone completion or PvPing, I’d say this is a gross over-reaction. Hell even buying them with gold they’re not that bad.
about 17-25 gold will buy you 5 transmutation stones from the TP (150 gems)
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
It is a catch 22. You purchase the skin and get one free transmutation if you directly apply it to a character. However, if you wish to add it to your wardrobe you forfeit the free transmutation, though allowing multiple characters then to withdraw it from wardrobe and transmute it using a charge.
The fix is simple. You purchase a armor set/ weapon and it directly deposits it to your wardrobe and you get a transmutation charge for each piece in your mail to apply to your account. It would fix a multitude of issues.

It gets added to your wardrobe upon either purchase or use of the skin (I don’t remember which) making it available to all of your characters so it isn’t really a catch 22 at all. The only time you lose the first free transmute is if you want to save on bank space.
Once you buy it, it’s in your wardrobe. However you have to use the one delivered to have the baked in charge. If you simply choose it from your wardrobe you will be charged a charge.

Using the “Store in Wardrobe” functions to destroy black lions skins in order to store them in the wardrobe always used to return a transmutation charge for the item.
That was removed with no warning. Now it just unlocks the item, destroys the skin, and gone. There is some vague warning message on it that says:
“Using this item will store it in the wardrobe and destroy the skin. It will cost a transmutation stone to use this item.”
It doesn’t say anything about the transmutation stones that used to be refunded to +1 your count when you do this.
I’m so mad. I would have just kept all my skins in the bank if I knew about this change.
What the heck. I’ve already dumped tons of support into the cash shop, please be reasonable with your communication.
Play some PvP. You’ll be swimming in them in no time. I’m sitting on 31 at the moment. I would say I use them quite a lot. I mean I’ve used about 32 in the last month or so. Not bought any from the BLTC in a long time. Probably back at launch when I hit 80 with my first warrior.

Also, if you are a PvE only player then getting them is very easy with an empty char. slot. Just create a new character, do map completion in one of the cities (I like the Grove because it is easiest for me) and get a charge. Then just rinse and repeat as much as you’d like. Completing the city maps takes 10 minutes or less when you get the pattern down.
There seems to be some confusion.
- A skin you purchase from the BLTC does NOT get automatically added to your wardrobe if it’s just an individual skin (back item, head item, etc).
- A skin you purchase from the BLTC DOES get automatically added to your wardrobe if you buy a whole armor set (head to toes) AFTER you open the chest it comes in.
I noticed the fact that it didn’t give you a transmutation charge and you technically “lose” the charge that goes with the skin, but because I did, I put about 40 skins on an alt mule at the moment.
It would be REALLY nice of Anet to change the system to unlock the skin in the wardrobe and give you a transmutation charge. That way, skin hoarders like me could acquire the skins and not feel like they lose a charge if they just store the skin.
On the other hand, PvP is a quick way to acquire transmutation charges for free. So, it’s not that bad.

….wut? I don’t think that was ever a thing.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

As was already said above, this was never a thing.
