Transmutation Stones

For a person who has played this game ever since it was released, it was common sense that Transmutation Stones were useless. It was impossible not to get lots and lots of them, if you like to or simply complete maps for experience. Well I know I had a lot of these. I had one main character with Map Completion and three more level 80 with almost all of the maps, and one other that doesn’t have high zones yet but a lot of the low level zones. I had over 200 in total between my characters.
However, a few months ago, I started to run out of space in my bank, so I purchased an upgrade. Then I ran out of space again and put the “not-so-important” stuff in my inventory. But after a while, that option was too not that good. So I thought “These things are completely useless, I’ve been keeping them ever since I started to play this game and never used any”. So I deleted them.
And now Arena Net simply comes up with the idea of finally making these things useful. And I’m not saying I don’t like the idea. Personally, I like it. But now? My point is this change is better for people who have just started to play because they still have their Transmutation Stones but not for the ones who’ve played this for over a year and a half and thought these were never going to be useful.
So, I’m wondering, in case we destroyed them, will we get the number of Transmutation Stones back corresponding to the number of maps we have completed? Because otherwise we might aswell just start accumulating "Hoof"s because they may or may not become turned into Hoof Charges that are used for something else. My point is it looks like from now on you can’t destroy anything because it can become suddenly useful in a Feature Patch like the one that’s coming tomorrow… Will it be possible to get the equivalent number Transmutation Charges that you would have if you had never destroyed them, taking into account that as of the day you destroyed them, they weren’t useful and it was impossible to ever predict they’d be?
