That’s a good question. Do we even still get more from doing map completions now? The whole 3 for 1 charge thing is still a huge rip off.

Yeah 3 for 1 does sting pretty bad :/

Double-clicking an item will convert it, and the charge will be added to your currency wallet. If you have multiple items, you will need to double-click each one until they all have been converted into charges. If you have less than three Transmutation Stones left over, feel free to delete them, as they are no longer useable.

you could still use them for a new character while leveling.

Double clicking them does nothing; they can’t be used.

try right clicking them and clicking use. I did that earlier when trying to figure out how to convert them and it said “requires two items in your inventory” so I think it will work.

I feel the need to add my 2 cents about the screwing that is the exchange rate of the transmute stones, along with a simple solution (and hopefully repairing the damage caused to people who already traded some in).

Not every player waits to level 80 to transmute gear, and they shouldn’t be treated as if they were by forcing this messed up exchange rate on everyone. Not every gear or skin is level 80, and I would venture to guess there are more non-80 gear items and skins than there are max level, although with the blossoming amount of ascended and legendary gear, this ratio may change. That does not change the fact that there is not all max level gear.

Simple solution is to base the charge for transmuting items in a way similar to how it was done before, without treating every item as if it were level 80. If the skin and the item are regular non-80 things, 1 transmute charge. If either the skin or the item or both are level 80, 3 transmute charges. Doing it this way keeps the ability to re-skin the items at the same “cost” as before, and doesn’t rip off everyone who wants to re-skin at a lower level.

Anet, please fix this exchange rate, and YES it IS broken!

uh, right now its 1 transmute charge across the board. Why would you want it to be more?

Also, confirmed you can still get a charge every time you explore a city, so you can easily use an extra slot to farm them. No big deal.
