Does anyone know if a transmutation charge is consumed per piece of equipment changed or if it is consumed per transmute process? As in, you can transmute any number of equipment, but when you apply the changes it only consumes 1 charge?

With it being per piece and with the current exchange rate (1/1 crystal, 3/1 stone) I am now fearing anet is going to make transmuting cost more gems now…

How so?
Currently you also need 1 crystal per piece for lvl 80, and stones was not even an option for lvl 80 gear, now I’ll be able to use my over 200 stones among my lvl 80 toons “for free”.

Still though, even if anet makes charges the same price as crystals as the exchange rate may show, that means players below lvl 80 are now paying more for transmutation compared to stones.

Would have been better if the charge was consumed per change and not per piece. After all players are going to change style most of the times anyway, It wouldn’t hurt the precious incomings on charges Anet so depserately wants.

Well, it is kinda balanced.
It will get more expensive to transmute under lvl 80 gear, but transmute lvl 80 will get advantages since many players have tons of t-stones and apparently there will have more ways to get t-charges than we have to get t-crystals nowadays, besides gem store.
