Do I have to use the fine transmutation stones now that my ele is 80? I wanna get the shadow armor for looks but my character is 80.

Unless I am mistaken, as long as one of the items is level 80 in your transmutation box it will require a Fine Transmutation Stone.

Only if both items are below 80 could you use the Basic Transmutation Stone.

I’d suggest going for level 79 gear until you have your full exotics that’s what I did to save on the stones
