enginner asuran or sylvari not sure which , living in …Divinities Reach or northern parts of queensdale
seek out caithe because bad insert word here ness
*I’d be my ranger although I’m not sure if I’d want to be Sylvari. I’d rather stay human.
*Leveling, skills, many things really. If we are our characters, then there wouldn’t be a need for it. While the game can ‘assist’ us to perform what would otherwise be impossible, much of what we can do would depend on our own ability to do it.
*Much superior AI. A much more interactive world.
*Countess Anise…nough said.
*Elemental Jump puzzle would be home.
*Are we talking actual Sword Art Online or beyond that? I’m talking about dying in game = dying in RL.
Beyond that, SAO games are still just that. They can unplug and get back to the real world or are we talking Log Horizon where they seem to be trapped?
Yay for “Log Horizon”, because its doing it better than “Sword Art Online”, ATM
If you found yourself trapped in a virtual Tyria as one of your characters —
Which character/profession would you rather be?
My human Mesmer, but see “unimplemented game mechanic” for elaboration
Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
RNG…
Here. Let me get a dye pack with exclusive dyes!
What’s inside?
Random common dye?!
Oh you silly RNG. ~wah waahhh~
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Mercenary Heroes so I can hang with my other characters
Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
I want to adopt Rikkiti =3
Which zone would you choose to call home?
Ossan Quarter in Divinity’s Reach. Working as a artisan with other characters to run a small business. As long as we don’t get Gnashblade’s attention, we should be okay, right?
My question.
How do you think areas like, “The Mists” and “Fractals” would be resolved in this strange circumstance?
(Heh. Good to see an OP with knowledge of the old Rosenberg novels. )
Lemme see, here:
Profession: Probably my Sylvari Mesmer, considering I did make the poor SOB first.
Unwanted Game Mechanic: Freaking LOS. It works poorly as is, and screws up my Phantasms.
Unimplemented Game Mechanic: More Chronomancy. Time Warp is just not enough. Hell, freezing time would just own.
Who to hang out with?: Caithe. Gotta get that girl out on the town. Seriously. Go dump Faolain into a volcano, already. Or Taimi, cause she’s funny as heck.
Who to clobber?: Besides a certain jerklicious plant-dragon? Caudecus has been left in one piece for too bleeding long …
Home area?: None, really. Why stick in one place for long?
Random question Cantha expac. When? :P (All jokes aside, do illusions in this situation at least succeed in distracting the enemy?)
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
(edited by Advent.6193)
1. Which character/profession would you rather be?
My guardian.
2. Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Rubbing people to bring them back from the death. Or being rubbed by people to come back from the death. 0_o
3. What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Being able to have smexytime. I can’t image a life without smexytime.
4. Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Who cares about NPCs? I’d chill with my guildies.
5. Which zone would you choose to call home?
Our guild’s guild hall.
Which character/profession would you rather be?
My ranger. Though I’d no longer use zerk sword and instead cautiously longbow from a distance.
Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Getting hit by arrows, swords, axes .etc
Conditions.
Falling.
That disinterested look ladies give me.
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Well I sure as hell would want first person view. Good thing that’s coming. Housing would be essential too.
Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Countess Anise seems like the most powerful connection anyone could have.
I probably wouldn’t punch anyone in the face.
You may, however, find me screaming at people who are standing around the bank taking my interact ability away from the tellers.
Which zone would you choose to call home?
Divinity’s Reach. Ever notice how humans are the only race that have more than a handful of houses?
Insert your own questions here!
What would you do at your home?
I would hope to get a job as a crier so I could walk around all day and say anything I want and still get paid.
- Which character/profession would you rather be?
Human Engineer, heavy on the turrets. Why should I get shot and stabbed? We have machines for that.
- Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Only slotting a skill once. If I want to put out three missile launchers, I should be able to do so. Or three rifle turrets.
- What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Heroes/companions. I’d like to have some of my characters with me (though explaining some of my former RP choices to them may be awkward.)
- Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
The Windmill King! But not to clobber. I think he’s been hit in the head a few times too many already, poor guy.
- Which zone would you choose to call home?
Queensdale or Divinity’s Reach.
- Insert your own questions here!
Why doesn’t the Wolf Shrine in the Foothills sell the Wolf Tonics any more? I wanna be a fluffy puppy!
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Guardians of the flame!? OMG!!! I thought I was the only one to have read that!!! (Of course the later books were aweful, and the author didn’t know how to end it, so over all it was “meh”. But still a great concept.
As for me…
I would choose necromancer.
Not having to deal with condition stacking issues.
I am not sure about which mechanic to implement as far as “being in Tyria”. As most of the ones I would like to see are mainly quality of life stuff that only makes sense while playing an MMO.
I would try to find Marjory…yeah…shes hot….
I would call DR home. It’s kind of awesome.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
- Which character/profession would you rather be?
I’d rather be a Guardian. I’m very protective of my loved ones and this would be the perfect profession for me. And I’d find a use for my (sometimes) obnoxious screams (shouts).
- Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
I’d rather not have to deal with instances. To be closed off from everyone else while I’m roaming the world, trapped in it would be really weird and lonely. I’d want to be around everyone all the time.
- What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
First person view. It’d be really odd to have to learn how to walk while not being able to see through my own eyes.
- Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
*I’d instantly go after Eir Stegalkin as a friend. She seems like a really honorable person and a great friend, and if I’m trapped in this world with no combat experience, I’d rather have her trusty skills at my side than my own.
As for a NPC I’d clobber, I’d want to punch Trahearne in the face. Not because I hate him as a character, but because my hatred for how he stole my part in my own story.*
- Which zone would you choose to call home?
Metrica Province, hands down. The architecture and jungle life there is beautiful, and not to mention I’d feel at home with all the technology around. It’d also be really awesome to learn from the asura.

If you were called to arms to fight in the Silverwastes, would you go, knowing your own fighting skills?

| Biyx’s All-For-Nothing Challenge |
Swort Art Online is overrated xD Best adaption of this kind of story is for me personally the .hack Series, which was basically the breakthrough of these kinds of animes, as it came out at the same time as SAO, but is alot more popular worldwide and successful than SAO
If I would find myself trapped inside the Game World of Tyria:
- my Character’s Race would be Human
- my Character’s Profession would be Thief
- I wouldn’t be content with the Game Mechanic of Player Killing, in other words Open PvP
- I would love to see implemented as Game Feature that doesn’t exist yet Player Housing
- I would try to befriend myself with the NPC Caithe
- my Home would I call Divinity’s Reach
Which character/profession would you rather be?
Sylvari Thief
Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Death I guess XD
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Actual player housing so I’m not a hobo. :O
Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Braham~ perfect bodyguard. I’d clobber that Charr in Silverwaste that keeps talking trash about Skritt and Sylvari. I’d ____ the cutest Sylvari NPC.
Which zone would you choose to call home?
Caledon Forest
Insert your own questions here!
Do you like bunnies?
* Which character/profession would you rather be?
I’d be myself, and though I’d like to be a mesmer or a ranger, I imagine I’ll just be "citizen". I’d ideally be sylvari.
* Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Anything that would contribute to my untimely demise.
* What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Individual houses, decorated to the highest standard and opportunities for home cupcake bakers.
* Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Quaggans. I shall repeatedly befriend quaggans. I shall clobber no one, because I am a citizen, and do not have the training: I recognise my limitations!
*Which zone would you choose to call home?
The Grove. But if they don’t sort out this silly situation with that dragon, I shall be forced to relocate to Garrenhoff, in Kessex Hills, until the whole thing blows over.
*Insert your own questions here!
Can charr retract their claws? Or do they inadvertently injure themselves all the time?
(edited by Ceridwen.6703)
Mesmer, as you can just stealth away from any trouble, or pretend you’re a clone.
I’d rather not deal with chill > would be annoying as well as painful.
I’d wish they implemented player housing: sleeping on the streets would be lame :<
I would seek out and befriend the guy who keeps calling out “BY OGDEN’S HAMMER, WHAT SAVING!”
And queensdale would be my home zone so peaceful there.
1) Human / Mesmer
2) Death
3) Taming one of Elder Dragons and having it as my mount
4) None.
5) Arah
If you found yourself trapped in a virtual Tyria as one of your characters —
Which character/profession would you rather be?
- female Asura Mesmer
Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
- equiped only 3 utillity skills
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
- housing, hairdresser instead of makeover-kit
Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
- Tybalt, cute Charr Anya Fairmind, Rikkiti, Doxa + Kazz (+ my characters )
Which zone would you choose to call home?
- Rata Sum or Lion’s Arch
- Which character/profession would you rather be?
- Human elementalist because of huge savings on heating during winter, cooling during summers etc.
- Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?

- Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend?
- all NPCs working in Divinity’s reach trading post
- Which zone would you choose to call home?
- Divinity’s reach
I would be humble trader living his boring life far away from any danger behind tall and thick walls of Divinity’s reach and my biggest problem in life would be annoying beggars and drunk Norns being too loud….. because who would like to die in some random cave somewhere in the middle of nowhere right? ;-) I am not fool like others but I would gladly make profit on their loot …. exotic weapon? Cool… how about 24 silver?
(edited by Brahmincorle.1264)
Which character/profession would you rather be?
a slyvari, definitely. profession, i’m not so sure. are we “living” with in game mechanics, or is it more realistic? I’d have to go with mesmer, elementalist, or ranger.
Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
the pain involved with fighting, if that counts ;P, otherwise, lag.
What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
Player housing
Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
the pale tree
Which zone would you choose to call home?
I’d probably work at the farm in queensdale, with the windmill
Hmm..If dying in game meant dying irl (SAO before ALO arc) then my warrior.
The game mechanic I wouldn’t want to contend with: when you try to hit a mob and it’s (or you are) elevated and it just keeps saying invulnerable until the mob hits you.
The game mechanic I would wish was implemented would have to be housing. Need a place to crash if we’re gonna be living in it.
The NPC I would seek out: Countess Anise. I would volunteer to be her pet..haha.
Which zone would be home? Probably Divinity’s Reach. If they ever decided to do open world pk, then cities would most likely be the safe zone. (like in SAO)
A la ‘Sword Art Online’ and ‘Log Horizon’ and going wa-a-a-ay back to the ‘Guardians of the Flame’ series of novels from the early 80s.

ohh….I actually had to think for this and really had a hard time picking
*Necro Charr – it was this or my warrior. But in the end, it went off on looks. And Soth is still my favorite armor design.
*Karma – I dont see how it being implemented now that we are sucked in working….kinda weird to hand over karma tokens or something.
*Reputation system – Not what you are thinking of at first! But like in Sword art online. Green you are considered a good guy, yellow you’ve done some things best not known, red – run. While I know there isn’t any PKing in Gw2, make it they get sent to jail if caught can work. And going red would be killing npcs.
*Quaggan. I’d be selling quaggan skins…quaggan boots….quaggan purses….quaggan blubber….
*Queensdale – Simply put, its fun to go to the gravestones and laugh there, and I want to share all my stories of Ascalon with the humans…..
Now, would we be forced to act AS our character, or just be stuck looking?

1. My main character; Chimie Pepsios (Charr Warrior Rifleman).
2.Dumb NPC enemies with ridiculous health.
3.Proper (as in being able to see my self, and what I’m holding) First person, and a targeting reticule. Maybe a Iron Legion motorcycle. =P
4.I’d befriend Reeva.
5.Probably the Hero’s Canton, but there’s soo many nice spots in Tyria.
6.N/A
Also I hate my user ID.
(edited by DietPepsi.4371)
1) Which character/profession would you rather be?
Of the characters I’ve made, I have to go with my Charr warrior. My Asura engi and Sylvari ele were strong contenders, but Asura society seems like it’d be really annoying to actually deal with day to day, and Sylvari society is just plain odd on top of the whole dragon minion thing. Also, see #4.
2) Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Underwater combat is a pain in my fluffy tail. If I never have to fight anything underwater again it’ll be too soon.
3) What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
To copy what some others have said, it’d be pretty cool to have my other characters hang around as my Heroes.
4) Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
I’d seek out MY $%##!& WARBAND THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN IN 2 #
!& YEARS – ahem. Excuse me. Seriously, though, I actually liked those guys – Reeva, that clothie dude, that chick who didn’t want to be a cook for Flame Legion – and now I can’t even find them in my Black Citadel home instance. It’s depressing.
5) Which zone would you choose to call home?
Mostly Black Citadel and its surroundings. Being a gardener in real life, I’d buy some land in Ascalon and start a chili pepper farm. Those things are through the roof!
Which character/profession would you rather be?
Either my human warrior or human thief

Tiboult (yes I’m sure I’ve butchered the name). Love this charr, and yes I am saying this even has a human.

Which zone would you choose to call home?
Timberline Falls. I love that area, beautiful and just a pleasant place to live. So long as you avoid the krait to the southeast and the grawl to the direct east. And the dredge. Now that I think about it, its beauty is marred by way too many dangers. So lets just stick with Queensdale. Northern Queensdale. In Shaemoor. City right there. Minimal pests to deal with. Still in a rural area.

Which zone would you choose to call home?
Gendarran Fields <3 old Nebo Village
0. Trapped? Waddaya mean – trapped? Who wouldn’t want to live in a (mostly) clean, high-magic, low-technology, fantasy world with plumbing? (and yes, there’s plumbing, because there aren’t rivers of sewage flowing down even the scuzziest of cities).
1. I would want to be: my own main character, a human elementalist. And I would study to be a mesmer on the side.
2. I would not rather contend with: asura gates and lack of mounts. Asura gates are a nice gaming mcguffin, but in a “real” world? “Sir, uh… Zhaitan and ten thousand Risen just ported into the Minister’s Waypoint. We are being overrun. We need to evacuate Divinity’s Reach!” This is a fantasy world; I’d rather ride horses, bulls or asuran transportation golems.
3. What do I want implemented: a real home, mounts and a barber shop.
4. I would befriend Queen Jennah (I’m quite fond of our barefoot queen), and I would clobber Trahearne. No surprise there.
5. I would live in Divinity’s Reach. Love that city. Too bad I rarely have time to hang out there lately.

•Which character/profession would you rather be?
Profession-wise, necromancer. But considering the gender disparity between myself and my character necromancers—if we’re choosing our characters, I’d go with my warrior.
THAT SAID if we enter our character as ourselves—but we then have the character’s history to consider… I wouldn’t choose my warrior because that character is an evil, sadistic lunatic with a bunch of evil sadistic followers, and real-life me wouldn’t last a day in that environment XD
So, in that case, I’d go with my elementalist. I’d get along with my elementalist’s friends. In fact, now that I’ve thought of it, my elementalist would probably be my first choice regardless.
•Which game mechanic would you rather not have to contend with?
Being forced to slow down if I get hit by something. Because realistically, I’d run faster.
•What currently unimplemented game mechanic would you wish was implemented?
uhhh no idea.
•Which NPC would you be most likely to seek out and befriend or clobber or ________?
Hmmmm I’d befriend D.E 2.0, they seem like likable people. I’d go clobber some flame legion and rescue their slaves.
•Which zone would you choose to call home?
Probably The Grove or Diessa Plateau. If my Warrior is wandering around, then somewhere FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THERE. That character is bad news. Though… I’d be curious to see that pit of horribleness in person… and wonder ‘what abomination have I created??’
