So I’ve completed Caledon Forest quite a few times, but this is the first time I’ve seen this in the Ogden Wilds area (where you turn yourself into a Mossheart). The even stranger part is my husband and I were doing the area at the same time and on his screen it was just murky fog and no “dragon”. Even more weird, I went back later on the same character and it was gone. o.O

At first, I thought that maybe since I was human and the husband was Asuran that maybe Anet was being sneaky and the different races saw different things in some areas…but as I didn’t see it when I went back, that theory went out the window.

What causes this “dragon” to appear? I’m SO confused!

Maybe it’s just a glitch. It’s the same exact dragon from the prologue-mission of the sylvary story line appearing in the exact same spot. It happend to me on my human-character in queensdale two times aswell. When I walked from the trading post towards the garrison I saw the earth-elemental from the prologue-quest. Once I approached the elemental it disappeared.

You might run by a village at one point in time to find it a bustling, thriving place.
Go by it later and find it overrun by enemies.
Even later (if you did not defend) and find it burnt to the ground.

That doesn’t explain why her husband could not see the dragon even though they were at the exact same spot at the same time. It was probably just a glitch.

I guess it is the same issue that had people see candy corn glimpses after the halloween event.

I think a metaevent just ended and that’s what happend with boss. As for your husband, maybe he joined the map a bit too late?

I had this same thing happen with the Greater Earth Elemental that appears at the end of the human prologue. It appeared randomly in the middle of the field from a distance, I though ‘Cool, an event where the Earth Ele comes back’. But by the time I got to the field it was gone, I asked people about it that were standing right in the field where it would have been, and they had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently I was the only person that was able to see it.

That makes sense. He did show up to the area a bit after I did and no one else seemed to have seen it. But at least I got a cool screenshot of it for some nice wallpaper!

@khani: Indeed, since the color palette is different from the prologue-quest it will make for an unique screenshot

A few people had the same thing with the beached whales in LA during the Lost Shores event, they’d be visible from the diving board before they actually showed up on the beach, and sometimes afterwards as well.

Did those whales have any direct link with the Lost Shores storyline?

When in doubt, it’s a bug.
