PvP exclusive rewards are good. I hope they never bring it to PvE

I wouldn’t mind if the skin would be in the PvP reward track, I just hope there’s some way to still obtain them.

A PvP track for them (maybe behind other tracks that must be completed so they retain their “rareness”) would be great. Gives another incentive for PvP at that.

Rareness… Rank 30… As if Rank 30 had ever been a problem. Rank 80 was.
Anyway. I feel the same about another PvP exclusive armor that I am missing 2 parts of, which really bugs me, since I’d really want to use it, but it’s incomplete.

As for the reward tracks, you’d have to complete it at least 6 times anyway to get the whole set, which should be enough.

There should be nothing exclusive about it (and the several other sets that met a similar fate). Why do people obsess over prestige? No one cares that you have something that others cannot get. Saying stuff like this makes you come across as an entitled kitten.

Just for context, I’m a veteran back from when Prophecies first came out and I played GW2 since head-start; thus I have lots of “exclusive” items that other people cannot have. This does not make me feel better as a player, and by no means give me superiority over anyone. I couldn’t care less what newer players have access to… this game is meant to be enjoyed by everyone. Who are you to say what other people can and cannot have? Just for the sake of prestige? Get over yourself. Seriously.

So what am I gonna say? Make a PvP track for it. You get one piece per time completing the track. It was pvp only back in the day and should remain that way. Most people just want the shoulder pads anyways.

They said they were gonna re-add this back in the game ages ago, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. ArenaNet can’t even be bothered to put in a sufficient amount of earnable armor sets for 50 dollars let alone putting a set back in for a pvp track.

It’s pretty awful how they treat their playerbase these days. Everyone who bought HoT should have gotten all the new faces and hairstyles for free. They should have been included at launch for 50 bucks.

I am honestly surprised there wasn’t a pvp track for it with the expansion. But still hoping a dev will at least chime in with an update.

As someone who doesn’t have the tribal set because I wasn’t playing the game when it was available, I’m totally fine with the tribal armor set never coming back. Rewarding players with exclusive skins they can earn in game is fine by me, even if they’re only temporarily available.

What I do have a problem with are all the cash shop skins that seem to have been permanently removed. I’m not talking about the seasonal stuff.

I really want that armor, make it available again. I don’t see any point in GW2 making anything limited, because GW2 is all about skins.

There’s far too few savage or sexy armour sets in GW2. Please return this set. I am planning a wild beast of a necro and this would have been an epic looking character set when combined with godskull slayer greatsword.

Maybe it’s called something else in their records and they can’t find it?

I never got the chance to do PVP before the pvp gear was phased out and I do believe we were promised that they would reintegrate the gear back in… which has yet to happen.

Well we can’t all have a million accounts and literally live in the game and thrive on pretending to be a special snowflake.

Ultimately everything that isn’t confined to limited time availability is somehow easy to get if you put enough time into it.

It is pretty normal for MMOs that time consumption or heavy RNG makes things prestigious.
Level 30 in the old system for tribal armor it probably took more time than rank 80 in the new system, since you only got your personal score converted to rank points. So if you scored 100 points you gained 100 rank points. Now you flat out get 1500 (+ bonus for awards or mist buffs) for a (un)ranked win and 1/3rd of it for a loss.
I think despite playing quite a decent amount of pvp I only got rank 54 or 55 before the patch hit.

You’re right, this isn’t Communism online, but wanting to BE ABLE to get an armor set that others have (that was essentially taken out of the game with no warning, mind you) is akin to advocating for Communism? It’s not like they want to kittening take away the skins from the people that have them and given them to the people who don’t. You’re argument (if it even is one) is extremely flawed, so much so I can only assume you are baiting. I guess I bit anyway.

Exactly, there’s no argument about whether it should or shouldn’t return, because it’s already been confirmed by devs that it will return.

I hoped they would bring it back with HoT, since the tribal armor would fit perfectly into the jungle theme. They could have been like bladed and leystone armor, obtainable at merchants and as loot from meta-events.
However, I play GW2 since launch and was never much into pvp. I would have no problem playing some pvp to get the armor, it’s just sad, that it is not available.
I don’t realy care how they bring it back as long as it isn’t as an outfit

Still no update on this? It’s kind of crazy that they’ve hinted at a return for this long without it actually happening.

I’d love to see ANET fix bugs, add more skins, etc, before I die.

I doubt they’ll say anything or give an update. If they do put it back in they’ll need to make and then add the content to give it as a reward. That means either updating PvP with a new reward track for each armor or new content in the next Living Story or expansion that has these as a reward. Either way I’m not expecting it to be soon.

I’m still optimistic that we will have a way to earn the set at some point. I just hope it happens before my grand-kids put me in a retirement home.
