Hey, I started playing back when the nightmares within started and received the 3 key pieces in the mail. I was wondering if the chest was removed with that content or do I now have a useless item?

Its still there but its going to be gone soon on the 21 i believe. There even a way to get another one if you complete the meta events for the current LS.

You can buy a key a day in Kessex for 30 pristine spores and some silver coins. The chest is on the north edge of the lake near the Wurm spawn (visible on your map as a large chest icon). Key pieces will drop occasionally but the only guarantee is buying them off the vendor.

It could very well vanish this Tuesday. Go ahead and combine your key pieces and go open the chest. If you have multiple keys on you you can open it multiple times in a row, one key per open.

The chest is gone now, huh? I somehow managed to get all 3 pieces and assemble a tricolor key today…

I’d save the key pieces, you never know with anet, alot of old stuff tends to pop up again on vendors or new events later on down the line. But it does seem to be gone for now.
