The people who do it start setting up about 30-45 minutes before the event starts. Try looking for taxis around 30-45 mins before it’s due. Also, considering joining guilds like TTS that do the event multiple times per day.

It was aimed exclusively at organised guilds and they complete it regularly. The only way you will get to finish this is to join their groups and teamspeak channel

I guess you weren’t around when it was released. The discussion went something like this:

Guilds: Game 2 EZ yo anet!

Anet: Ya, we know. Here. (releases Triple Trouble)

Guilds: Hey, this is impossible! Like, literally. It’s bugged.

Anet: Oops. Here, fixed.

Guilds: Thanks!

Everyone Else: OMG so hard! It can’t be done!

Anet: Yes it can. We fixed it.

Everyone Else: …. Then why can’t I complete it?

In other words, it’s not meant for random casual people to just show up and complete like other bosses. In fact, it’s been rather successful at it’s intended purpose, which is targeted at elite guilds. If you don’t like it, ignore it. There are plenty of other bosses.

The problem with Triple Trouble is that it’s an organize world event, however really hard to organize because we do not have any tool to help us. You are limited to the map limit, with people you don’t want. If it was possible for a commander with enough players in his squad (let’s say 75 people +) to create a private instance for his squad, that would help A LOT.

As has been said, you need to get there early and taxi. 99% of the time the stupid megaserver system will figure out that you want to be on the particular map instance where everyone is just levleing, or some mega guild doing a guild mission. Unlike teq, if you get there 30m – 1h early, likely you will just be on a map all by yourself.

Bah they just didn’t want to have to attempt to scale it appropriately after the fiasco’s with other large scale events preceding it.
All it did was turn many small guilds away or force them to hop over to other guilds for a mass zerg affair.

TT though has some of the worst rewards going in comparison to the effort to organise and complete.. scaled and instanced would of been far better I mean the rewards that it yields I would expect if a small 10-15 player guild attempted it not a whole server cap effort.

If you’re on EU servers you can also check out PSDH, our schedule is on ‘psdh.eu’. We run TT wurm 4 times a week and welcome players of any skill level to join us (as long as they are on teamspeak of course).

Just came across this thread, and figured I’d confirm the mention of gw2community.com.

I’m one of the Community Managers/Worldboss Commanders for them, and we do indeed kill Tri-wurm up to three times per day. As of sorted stats on our spreadsheet today, we’ve had 822/914 kills since last September, or a 89.9% success-rate. The key is having teamspeak as well as finding a newly-spawned map and getting everyone into it, including your specialised teams of Condition Dealers (husk killers) and Diboofs (Egg blockers, to prevent larvae spawns).

We regularly advertise our runs in mapchat in Lion’s Arch before we do the jump to trigger a new map spawn, and they’re open to all regardless of levels of experience. All we ask is that you be on teamspeak, attend the dryruns if you’re new so you know what to do and not to do during the run, and follow the instructions of the commander leading at the head you’re at.

When all of those things are brought together, TT can be killed with relative ease and for a decent amount of loot, including the chance for the Regugitated Armor boxes, any of the other regular ascended weapon/armor boxes, the TT exclusive mini, Anelid Rifle Skins. I’ve regularly seen people get precursors from the TT chest as well, having done well over 300+ runs myself, most of which were successful kills.

Our teamspeak address is

ts.gw2community.com

It’s an open teamspeak, no password required, and we regularly run Tequatl maps as well. Our TT stackup times (the time to be in the “EN Tri-Wurm (1)” channel by) are 13:52 CEST, 18:20 CEST, and 21:20 CEST (-1 hour for UK time). Basically we kill Teq then move to the TT channel and start the setup. As said before, you can be completely new to the event and you’re still welcome. All you need is to listen, follow instructions, and you’ll get a kill

I’ll probably be commanding at the 21:20 CEST stack-up on Tuesday 2nd June, same again for Friday, and probably at multiple runs this coming weekend. If any of you decide to come along to one of those runs, keep an eye out for me, Rinaia Skyhawk (elementalist). And if you fancy a laugh while killing the wurm, tag along at the head where I’ll be commanding.

After all, the player-base hasn’t nicknamed me the “Crazy Commander” for nothing

and I quote:

“Whatever you do guys, do not run over this spot here. Because a husk lands here eeeeeeeeeeevery 90 seconds, and if a husk lands on your head, -it- -is- -going- -to- HUUUUUUUUUUURT!”

and

“Snotballs of DOOOOOOOOM!”

Oops, as a side-note, the Teq times to be in the “Tequatl the Sunless (1)” channel by, are 12:10 CEST, 5:40 CEST, and 20:40 CEST. We jump to the map just after those times, so try to be in the channel at least 5 min before that

The only thing wrong with the event is the terrible loot. Tequatl requires much less effort and organisation but gives way better rewards. TT does not even give 2g like Tequatl and the chance to get the unique skins is abysmal.

The problem is the way maps fill up which guarantees that un-organised players have no change to do it, only by joining the organised groups, who know how to play the maps will you get it. Unless you are lucky and just happen to fall into an organised map (it does happen).
