Triple trouble massive fail
There are other guilds besides TTS that do them. eG and Att are the first ones to come to mind. (Apologies for missing the other organized guilds that still do this)

So 2 other guilds? Thats 3 guilds, and if Anet wants to create a hardcore pve scene starting with the wurm and teq, thats not enough. It also doesn’t eliminate the problem of people not being able to get into the map. Having more guilds helps, but it should be completely eliminated.
A player should never have to be denied content because he can’t even access it in the first place.
Find two others who will be commanders, set up a team speak channel, instant 150 people who will join you.
Or complain that the event is too popular and others are too lazy to set up more runs when you want to do it.

+Infinity. Exactly this. If “there are hundreds upon hundreds of people who want to do this event but can’t” and a few maps fill up fast with organized guilds, then that leaves quite a few players left to group up and do the event. Provided they are capable, all that’s left is some organizational skills. That’s where your will to do this event takes center stage. Make it happen.
Today I didn’t realize what time it was already after running a few dungeons. Tequatl was just 25 mins from spawning. " I’d like to do Tequatl," I thought. So I hop over to Spark fly to a nearly barren map, except for about 7 people standing around complaining that all the maps are full and they can’t get into a run. So I look at the LFG. Sure enough, there sits a good list of ‘lfg Teq taxi plz’ posts. “Yep, most of the already organized maps are full,” I realize. I see a mesmer standing by the others with a few ‘signs’ that I can take her serious out of the bunch. So I whisper, “Hey there! Will you please help me taxi some people into the map so we can get a run going?” “Ummm ok…but this isn’t an organized map…” “I know but it will be.”
So we start sending up ‘teq taxi join map leave group’ posts like they’re going out of style. Bam! First two people we bring are two commanders who were also late to the party. “Helps us taxi into map please” within about 5-10 minutes, we’re all suppressed in the lfg and there are 100+ people standing around!
“Who’s running turrets?” “Who are gonna be are defenders?” Etc. “All not assigned to a group over here to the zerg for DPS please” Food trays go down, banners go up, a bonfire goes down and TP express goes up! “Come get your buffs and anything you want from the TP at the zerg and get back to your positions please” Still 5+ minutes till incoming. Fire fields? Check. Might stacks. Check. Tequatl goes down with 7 minutes to spare.
Those world boss guilds weren’t Anet’s doing. They were the work of people taking initiative because they wanted to accomplish something. They’re not mystical or extraordinary. They’re people who make things happen.
(edited by Tman.6349)
No one is denied anything. Every one has the freedom to chose to organize themselves. And guilds have the ability to spawn the worm at their own leisure outside of their spawning time(which is already done so their map gets filled with their own people).
Have I done the event successfully? No. Am I being denied content? Not at all. I have the option to participate in, or if I cant get into those runs, I have the option to organize myself and others.

Teq is infinitely easier to organize than triple wurm.

Restore that which was lost. And all shall be as one.”
How about this, stop bloody complaining & start your own jump.
I’ve never managed to beat this boss
tried adn tried but never managed to get on a organized server for it.. unfortunately thats put me off completely
We at Baruch Bay are able to kill it with fire every week. It just needs organization and TS3.
Well, we’re still waiting for the fixes for Megaserver, them being:
- Megaserver selection list (GW1 District selection) to choose map copy to enter. (Propably simplified to “Mixed” and “Home”.)
- Reconnect feature (GW1 Reconnect) to help players to reconnect to the last map they were before disconnect or crash.
- Queue system (Re-introduced, used to be old GW2 function with overflows) to help players to join other maps through their party or Megaserver selector.
- Better sorting parameters, since players in parties have experienced serious splitting of party into different map copies, among other inconveniences…
Tri-Wurm, on otherhand requires over hour to organize. Having better control on choosing map copy, would make it easier to do.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I previously posted my suggestion on Reddit. Might as well repost here.
Assuming that Anet is philosophically opposed to giving guilds direct ownership of an instance:
1) expand the squad size for commanders to 100 or 120 or whatever magical number.
2) give commanders the ability zone into an area wih everyone in his squad.
3) if the commander’s squad is under the cap of an existing map, then zone into that map.
4) if the commanders squad cannot be squeezed into an existing map, then create a new one.
I was informed that squads have a limitation where you have to be in the same map. So this has to be addressed first.
If this event only required 20-40 people. The amount of organized runs you’d see doing this would multiple tenfold.
First of all, if this event would only need 20-40 players to complete, it would be the same as anything else in this game, which I am happy it is not. It’s supposed to be difficult and that has been achieved, even though the event WAS made easier multiple times already.
Ive seen random non guild instances complete it… x.x
I would very much dispute that you have. 99.99% probability that you randomly got into an organized run, that did not promote their respective method of communication (TS, Mumble, …). Succeeding runs do not have to be organized by one guild only, as there are communities that set these up for everybody to join.
Tri-Wurm, on otherhand requires over hour to organize. Having better control on choosing map copy, would make it easier to do.
Wrong and right. Wurm does not require over an hour of organization. 30 minutes is a good rule of thumb, though I have myself done it within the 5 minutes between start of the timer and the NPC’s running for the escort (plus ~3min of getting into the map). Though I agree that choosing a map was easier, it is still not overly complicated now and a map can be found within 2 minutes at most, 3 on Midday while Thaida is going on.
1) expand the squad size for commanders to 100 or 120 or whatever magical number.
Not neccessary in my opinion. The map cap is 150 and you need three commanders for Wurm anyways. Therefore a squadsize of 50 is perfectly appropriate. 1-2 Diboof, 3-5 Condi per head, 35 DPS on Crimson and Cobalt, 40 for Amber are the minimum numbers you are looking for, which never exceeds 50 on any squad as you can see.
On the event itself, as mentioned before, it’s not supposed to be easy and it DOES require organization. That’s why there are groups that do so for other players to join in and enjoy/complete the event together. It is a way bigger sense of accomplishment if you are able to share it with 149 players that went through it with you, then killing a veteran somewhere in open world with 2 bypassers and never see them again. I personally command and kill the wurm multiple times a day, so I know what I’m talking about =)

The whole point of the suggestion was for one commander to port the whole zerg into an instance, rather than have each member individually try their luck with joining instance.
Once the zerg is inside they can split accordingly.
If the limit stays at 50 we’d still have the problem of getting three commanders zone three smaller zergs into the same instance.
For every person who complains about not being able to join someone else’s work, they could have joined up and did it themselves. You all just sit in another server spamming join instead of trying to do it yourself.
Make your own guild, get people in that map, start organising amongst yourselves and you will do what “only three guilds” have managed to do.
Yes it is overly complicated and the game does not support raid management at all, thus I never killed Wurm and stopped trying to do it a while ago.

Well for these world bosses we do need a better system (no idea what though). Not sure queues/selection would work since we’d again run headlong into the issues of some servers just being full. Better sorting algorithms would work but that’s not exactly a definite solution either.

Not sure how effectively that resolves the issue, something like this should be implemented if only to steamline the logistical issues of getting everyone on one map but it doesn’t fix the issues with some maps simply not having enough people because everyone else is in the full maps.

Bah with your suggestion! ANet should fix / tweak / streamline everything so I don’t have to do anything :P
The problem with this “massive” events is the structure of other world events..
Ppl have a boss timer, log on the map zone, click 1 1 1 1 and grab loot, and it’s normal when they’re going to face more difficult (just for coordination required) events to think: Nah, it’s impossible, let’s wait for the next..
If more “hardcore” world events will be added, or just the old ones will be fixed better to have more challenging content, the meta gameplay can change to something more exciting…
Anyway, there’s more community that takes care of this big monsters, if you’re interested just ask on every map on tyria, and u will find them…
Personally i reccomend gw2community, cause you can just log on their ts and really enjoy a good time with the commanders and the rest of community ppl…
Like the real life, you just have to search ppl to share time and fun

It wouldn’t be the same as any other event. Because it would still be super difficult. Its 6-7 people at each of the wurm heads. Everything about the event would be scaled down for 6-7 people along with additional mechanics added since itw ouldn’t naturally be as hard since most of the difficulty with the wurm came from everyone doing what they needed to and theres a good chance thats not happening when 120 people are there.
