There is a jump in Troll’s End that is extremely difficult for the average size character and impossible for the larger ones such as Charr and Norn. Every time to try to jump you hit your head on the ceiling causing you to fall so you have to go back and repeat the section that you just did.

After trying this JP multiple times, and repeatedly failing because of this jump, I then realized that I had an easy solution sitting in my warehouse. I simply went and got a Plushi Griffon tonic out of my warehouse and when it came time for that jump I transformed. I actually finished the rest of the JP in that form and was laughing the entire time.

All it takes is using something to transform into something small. So simple that I wonder how many never thought of it lol

you can’t fix stupid

That jump is hard, but not impossible, to do on a Charr. Still, the tonics are a good workaround for it.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

The trick with that jump isn’t to jump staight across. You’re jumping on a slope. I used to fall there all the time. If you jump to the left, to the lowest part of the slope, you won’t hit your head.

Once I figured that out I was able to make that jump virtually every time on any character.

The Toy Soldier one is good also. I use that one one my max sized Norn for JPs.

I use both. The endless cat tonic works as well.

And it’s not that you’re hitting your head as a larger character and smaller ones are not, it’s just that the camera makes the jump harder to deal with when it’s on a taller character. Being smaller helps, but not by changing your hit box.

I’ve done this one dozens of times on my max height norn mesmer, it’s definitely not impossible (or even hard) once you know the JP.

True. Once you know them they aren’t hard. It’s the getting to know them on a max sized character (with the camera spazzing out). That’s where it’s hard and where these tonics are useful.

Troll’s End became a lot less arduous once a couple people showed me how to skip the initial “climb and fall” part of the puzzle. If you can just jump up from the floor the tricky bits are only a minute or so long.

But yeah, it’s certainly a dysfunctional little puzzle with a huge character. You can’t really see where you are so you just have to kind of guess. Not impossible but not easy either

Technically, every character in the game has the exact same hitbox, no matter if you’re the smallest Asura or the largest Norn. So every character of every race can make that jump without “hitting their head” so to speak. All shrinking does is make the camera a little bit more manageable.

That’s not to say that a tonic doesn’t help for larger characters just due to that, though.

Trolls end can definatley be done with a charr and a norn. The hit/collision boxes are the same regardless of the size of your character
