Just wondering what some of your best(worst?) moments of being trolled by the game are.

Here’s one that occurred for me just last night.

So, after deciding I like the look of the Ascended Calcite sword/shield for my Guardian, I decided to make the sword/shield using Theodosus’ stats (Cleric). Granted, Cleric stats aren’t that good, but at least there’s some power on the weapons.

Now for the part where the game trolled me. Last night, after zerging around in Edge of the Mists to get the Keep Capturer daily (Which we ultimately failed to get thanks to a terribad commander…)
I dropped back out of EotM to the Grove to clear inventory and call it a night… and I rather randomly got an Ebonmane (Apothecary) ascended weapon chest as a drop.

TL;DR: The game waiting until after I’d made the Ascended sword/shield to drop a weapon chest that would have given me the skin I wanted for free.

Sidenote: Does anyone know of any use for Apothecary stats… at all? Because they really seem to suck.

Same thing as you – made a Knight’s ascended focus just for the skin (collecting the “rainbow”) and then a Leftpaw’s Ascended box dropped about an hour later.

I used a mix of Apothecary/Settler trapper ranger for WvW, it performed really well.

You can get the skin for another weapon and sell it for a gold, it isn’t as bad as you think.

Created Dungeons/Fractals then Dropping the ball.
Fractal Reset.

Do fractals everyday and getting kitten drops, or nothing at all, then just do random daily pvp and getting 2 ascended assassins weapon boxes :p

I would say, likely.

Who hasn’t been trolled when doing Pacman in SW. Wolf gets you into downed state but runs off. You are almost healed to rally when another wolf pops up and kills you. Trolololol you thought you were going to get up!

I think the game of life of trolling you hard.

I got trolled like right now, when I saw the core specializations of thieves and realized my pistols are going to become obsolete for my play style… and I just finished crafting my quip not long ago.

Every time I see ‘Sam’ or ’Rhendak’s Signet’ or ’Commissar’s Manifesto’…only it turns out to be fine|blue instead of orange|exotic.

One time one of those wolves hit me right as I was tossing an Elixir S to stealth myself. I went down and then the elixir shattered so I stealthed, and the wolf ran off. So I started healing. Then the stealth wore off, and the wolf (who had run off a good distance and was almost out of sight) immediately turned around and ran back to finish the job.

The most memorable experience I’ve had with the game trolling me was months ago when I was exploring some world maps for fun (I’d gotten world completion on quite a few characters by this point and I really just like exploring lol).

Anyway… I did a heart in the Iron Marches and the game client crashed. When I logged back in, I was back where I was before I started the heart and the heart progress had been reset to 0% complete. I completed it again and once again the client crashed and my progress was reset. The game reset my progress on this one heart about a dozen times before I decided to call it a night.

I decided to create a new account, a necro. And with almost every in game award I keep on getting armour I cant use, and weapons I cant use. It’s almost funny except it isnt. The loot system in this game is one of the worst I have ever seen.

You’ve sure put a lot of time into the PvP of a game that you don’t even think is good. What’s that about?

Have done Tequatl 90% of the days at least once per day looking just for 1 Teq’s hoarde. Haven;t got one.
I teach 15 or so people how to do Tequatl and they get it within 20 days each. I’d say that’s pretty trolly

That….that is just bizarre. And fugly. What is it even meant to represent? I’d be much disappoint too

Tried in vain to reach a chest in the Silverwastes. I kept getting run over by terragriffs, died & d/c’d when I tried to waypoint….

Spent forever to make my first legendary The Dreamer, 3 days later they nerfed shortbows.

I got Rodgort’s Flame from the Ancient Karka event. At the time it sold for 13g. A month later it was selling for 50g. I have never seen a precursor drop since.

I found Dusk during an SMC defense and spent nine months collecting everything to make Twilight. Would have loved to buy the T6 mats and all, but didn’t have enough gold as I was still crafting ascended gear for a few of my characters. The last thing I needed for Twilight were the Ascalon Tears.

I did the PvP reward track rather than run the dungeon over and over. I got the last of the 500 I needed, but I stuck around for the next weapon chest for an exotic. Now I’ve been dropping 4 rare or 4 exotic weapons in the mystic forge as I get them for a few years now. So as I am going to make the Gift of Twilight, I notice I now have 4 exotic weapons in my stash. So I grab them.

I go to the mystic forge and make Gift of Twilight, then throw the 4 exotics in and out comes Leaf of Kudzu. My first precursor out of the forge, ever, right after I craft the last gift for Twilight. Sold it for over 700 gold. Could have probably used that gold nine months ago YOU SICK #%$@ ZOMMOROS!

Not really something to complain about, just really funny timing.

Farmed months for t6 mats and gold to buy The Legend from TP to eventually craft The Bifrost. So once I crafted The Bifrost, after 2 weeks Veteran Mordrem Trasher dropped The Legend for me during SW chestfarm :D
