Tarnished Coast Roleplayers [TCRP]
“Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.”
Folks,
I’m still fairly new and while I hit 80 a few days ago, I’m really struggling earning enough hero points to unlock my elite specialization. I’m at the point in HoT where I again, have to farm exp just to continue to the story so I can’t even access areas where additional points are available. I’ve heard that farming EotM in WvW is a good option as well. Is this correct? Is there any way to get my elite spec faster than what I’m doing right now?
Thanks!
try and join a hero point train.
Each hero challenge in hots give 10 hero points. I would say dragon stand have the easiest hero point challenges
I just got a couple of friends together and did them pretty quickly. Like loseridiot said above, join a train. There are a lot of nice people out there willing to lead and help. Look for a commander or mentor tag on the map or ask in zone.
Easiest way:
9 solo in Verdant Brink.
9 solo in Auric Basin.
7 in Dragon Stand during and after meta.
= 250 points.
Can ignore TD, and be done in 1 day if you push it. Although over a few days is more comfortable. DS is dependent on a successful meta, but those are going all the time.
Also, yes, hero tains are very handy. Check lfg for them. They are regularly listed.

I don’t know if anyone actually read the post…
Edge of the Mists will not help you, to earn XP for masteries you need to actually play in the new zones. Participate in the event chains where you can, do adventures (particularly the easy ones like Salvage Pit) daily, and make use of those Experience Boosters you have sitting in your bank from your achievement chests. The new Experience Boosters will give a 50% increase to all experience you earn, not just experience from kills like the old ones. This includes the sizable chunks of XP you get from events and adventures.
You can also proceed onwards through Heart of Thorns zones without advancing the story, just by exploring the map. It won’t necessarily be easy if you don’t have all the masteries required for movement, but someone with only Basic Gliding can still make it all the way to the final zone, Dragon’s Stand, given time and the knowledge of where to go.
