Twilight noob question
unfortunately, yes, you do need Armorsmith 400. there’s no way around it.
this might help you level it to 400 in the cheapest way: http://gw2crafts.net/armorcraft_fast.html

Unfortunately yes you need armorsmith at 400 for gift of darkness.
All legendary weapons require 2 crafting professions at 400 – the one needed to make that type of weapon and one other. The Gifts are all account bound so there is no way around it unfortunately.
I strongly recommend looking up a guide for the quickest/cheapest way to level it. It can make a huge difference.

Additionally, when you level these crafting professions, make sure you do it on a character you plan to keep.
Personally I have all crafting professions maxed on a single character so I don’t have to remember who did what.

Yes, I use that site too, but mostly for other things, such as “Who did I leave that endless harvesting tool on?”
