“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
The title almost says it all. Why do 2-handed weapons only grant one sigil? I mean it’s a huge negtive point if you ask me. You could theoretical have +5% dmg in every 2h weapon if you use 2x 1h ones. I haven’t seen a class where I have to admit that 2h weapons have stronger skills in general – they haven’t. So what’s the idea behind it? Is there an idea? Or jsut a design fail like bleeding?

It will be fixed sooner or later, 2h weapons will have 2 slots. Too lazy to search for the dev post… ^^
Seeing as infusion slots are properly different in number between one and two handed weapons, i can’t think of anything that wouldn’t already permit doing so.
I just started to wonder this because with my engineer there is no reason to take the rifle since I cannot have +5% dmg AND sigil of battle then … this sux pretty hard.
So it gets fixed? Great!
Hey guys,
We agree with you. This has been something that has been greatly discussed and is definitely on our radar. There isn’t a time frame set yet, but I just just wanted to let you know it is something we are looking to change for the future. Sorry I can’t give more details at this time.
2h weapons base damage is higher than 1h weapons, it’s like having a built in sigil of force
Its weird. What would happen if you put 2 bloodlust sigils on the same weapon, or 2 different sigils.

They would use the same rules as two 1 hand weapons. And if you use 2 bloodlust sigils you get stacks per kill which means you need only 13 kills to get the max 25 stacks.

The base damage of a weapon tells you exactly nothing at all about the potential damage of the weapon for a class.
People get always blinded by the stats though, which is telling you that they have no idea about the game mechanics… ^^
On the opposite side, two handed weapons take a lot more work. I could have made one ascended greatsword for my mesmer, which would give me +10 AR, or a one handed sword, for +5 AR. It takes about two times the materials just to get the same AR.
Pros and Cons to each I guess.
A past post by a dev indicated there were technical limitations as to why they could not add a second sigil slot to a 2 handed weapon.
A more recent post by a dev indicated that they wanted to look into giving 2 handed weapons a second sigil.
Maybe since they figured out how to give a 2 handed weapon 2 infusion slots, they figured out the technical problem that was holding them back initially.
This is at least on their radar. Whether or not it gets implemented or not remains to be seen.

warrior… hundered blades… (Greatsword)
No other skill in the game has a higher DPS multiplier on a single burst.
Infact the skill is so HAX at early levels, it allows the warrior to face stomp though zones 5-6lvls higher then what he is, and still take down an enemy with 1 burst.
Eviscerate used to come close with AXE, however it was Nerf’d to half its current potential at game launch.
Ive seen some Zerk Warriors pull over 50k Hundred Blade Spike when target is CC’d and War is mighted 25stacks.
Of course we all know the 1 major drawback to HB… the fact ur rooted.

this is so wrong…
Bloodlust, precision, and conditional dmg, along with the old magic find can not stack on each other.
If your weilding 2 bloodlusted items, only 1 will work.
The other will go into hiding.
If you have a bloodlust and precision, then whichever has the stack pop up first will be the working stack, while the other goes quiet.
You can stack bloodlust + fire, or speed, however u can not stack 2 things which gives u bonus on kills.
I dont think u can even stack demon summoning to bloodlust.
so no if u had 2 bloodlusted sigils, it would still take you 25 kills to get 25 stacks.

If you have 2 bloodlust sigils it does not take 25 kills to get 25 stacks go test it for yourself before you spread bad information to other players. It does not work if you’re using bloodlust and corruption or bloodlust and life ect but 2 of the same stacking sigils in the same weapon set(wielded at the same time) grant you stacks twice as fast. The stacks also work/remain if you remove the weapon that you used to get the stacks in the first place.
gw2 wiki:
“On-kill sigils
On-kill stacking attribute bonuses remain even after you swap or unequip weapons; the stacks only end on being downed or defeated, or by traveling to another zone or instance.
If you have an “on-kill sigil” on both main-hand and off-hand weapons, only the sigil on the main-hand weapon will trigger, since that sigil takes priority and forces a cooldown on the other.
Two different on-kill stacking sigils will not provide bonuses to two different attributes. Whichever sigil triggered the first time will continue to add to its stack. (i.e. you can only have one “on kill” stacking effect active at a time). However, if you have the same on-kill stacking sigil on both main- and off-hand weapons, stacks will accumulate twice as quickly. The 25 stack limit still applies.
The same limitation applies to mixing on-kill stacking and delayed effect sigils. Only the first effect will be present.
In sPvP, stacking and delayed sigils gain five charges per kill, i.e. they require only five player kills to reach the maximum of 25 charges. "
It isn’t as simple as giving all two handed weapons two slots. A second sigil slot would simply be a buff to what has already been balanced. So unfortunately, the introduction of a second sigil slot will likely come along with a nerf to two handed weapons across the board. So if you are looking for more free stats to your two handed weapon, the introduction of a second sigil slot probably won’t satisfy you.

How about you learn the game mechanics before you start dissing others for answering questions.
And if you want burst DPS just get a thief with an ele Fiery greatsword.

Cute – allways the 100b hype. rolleyes It’s just a big number and many players get misleaded by this. Howerer the DpS isn’t that amazing at all. How long is the cast time again? 3 or 3 1/2 sec? Even the better option (3) would result in 16k DpS (48k on cleave) wich is kinda normal for 25 stacks might.
Wanna see how my engineer hits like a train with 25 stacks might? He also causes 25 stacks vulnerability granting higher passive damage and shurely has the same single target direct damage as the warrior. If there are 4-5 targets to hit he outdamages every class with a happy smile with his up to 40k DpS with basic attacks (5x 8k bombs)…
Just wanna say – the axe basic attack doesn’t deal much less damage than 100b. Especially since the axe is able to have +5% dmg / +10% dmg with its sigil wich is (back to topic) unfair.
