Tyria... Logan's Run?
How old is your character?
loads gun
Yak’s Bend
Lincoln Force [BOMB]
I know what happens to them. Omnom berry pudding is people.
Dragonbrand
lol maybe we should start checking their hands for crystals
must be first generation though, I don’t see any numbers after npc names :/
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
I’ve seen a lot of old Asura, but I really can’t think of any time where I’ve seen old people from the other races now that you mention it.
Maybe they’re like elephants and just go off and die in some corner of the world once they reach a certain age?
there are/have been several wars on. Old people just dont live like they used to.
Health care in Tyria is probably really poor and some dragons flooding the world with those pesky undead doesn’t help.
It’s not funny to joke about this. If you had read the books you’d know that this lady: http://www.guildmag.com/wp-content/uploads/FreakyoldladyGW2.jpg
comes for anyone older then 30.
:(

does the grumpy old norn they partner you with when you join the vigil count?

Hmm, but we have numbers after our account names. Curiouser and curiouser…

Hey don’t diss forgal! He isn’t grumpy, he’s the most awesome warmaster! Seriously the best character in the game to me so far. Much more likeable then freaky Sieran.
Aanyway yeah I’ve got to agree where’s all the old folks. Fair enough there usually isn’t state of the art healthcare in fantasy settings and the big bad wars going on sure don’t help but still should see some more elderly around.
Strangest thing is npcs that are supposed to look elderly, grey hair and sometimes old voice and all, but share the same body type as youthly characters despite there being models for the elderly. That’s just weird.

Sadly it´s just another sign of a rushed launch.
And as in every theme park, new rides are always more important than fixing the old ones(unless severely broken) or polishing the overall experience.
the charr spy that works with you once you join the order of whispers seems to be up there in years. and i must say he is really funny to listen too.
It’s most notably humans and norn that have the old-voice-young-body syndrome. There are a pair of women talking in one of the towns in Kessex Hills (I think that’s it) and one of them sounds like she should be in her 70’s. Old, quavery voice. I heard her talking and looked around to find her, and she looks about 20. Youthful features, long dark hair (probably dyed!), in the typical “summer dress” outfit.
They have a couple of old lady npc models. You’d think they’d just use them, since they reuse all the others.
Funny thing, in one of the castles in the second human zone (forget the name of it) there is an NPC called “Old Woman” but she looks about 15 at the most, and her voice is all high squeeky like a childs! Made me truly laugh out loud, in real life!
There is a certain NPC from the whispers storyline whose parents show up later on. Since he’s in his early twenties they must be in their fourties or fifties. You can sort of tell.
When you’re not logged in the NPCs are all in a special part of the map we can’t see getting their hair and makeup done so that they always look flawless. Even the Charr.
…
Especially the Charr.

Argh, its the Gran Reaper!
Theres that creepy old lady hanging out with the Imps in Brisbain Wildlands that gives you “food.” Think thats the only distinctly old person I can recall.
I do wonder where all the war-worn and old are. At least in the case of Charr and Asura you can assume that its hard to tell. As far as we know Sylvari don’t age like humans do, and if they do its probably super slow. Even the firstborn look fine, not withered at all.
So that leaves Human and Norn. While some have grey/white hair. They all look pretty close to immaculate. :/ Tyria must have amazing plastic surgery or everyone is a Mesmer. More older people would be nice.

Try the Order of Whispers storyline. Tybalt Leftpaw (look at his right hand) is brilliantly done, (except for the end of Claw Island, they messed that up badly <jumps on Traherne hate-train>).
There are Norn Elders that walk around from time to time, and they do sound old.
As far as we know Sylvari don’t age like humans do, and if they do its probably super slow. Even the firstborn look fine, not withered at all.
The whole Sylvari race is only 23 years old so we cannot really say how they age.

The Sylvari have shown no signs of aging since emerging from their Pods.
As for old people, there’s the creepy old lady in Brisban that gives the skill point, the other creepy old lady that is in the pic above, the old man you kill in in the swamp in Kssex Hills, there are numerous Norn elders, old Charr, and that old guy that captained the ships during the personal story in Orr.
Plenty of old people.

I thought everyone over 30 turned into Risen?

I thought it was kinda funny they used the colonel voice actor from metal gear for that guy, kept thinking “why does this sound familier”
i have seen white hair in some norns but no wrinkles…^^

Don’t you dare diss Sieran! She’s totally cherry!
EDIT: So it turns out old people are being killed because Thackeray ran away from Kralkatorrik, thus the title…Logan’s Run!
(edited by Twoflower.7031)
I would say that older people would be harder to find because at this stage in the history (at least in actual history) disease would kill off older people, life expectancy is just shorter. However, there are a couple of elderly ladies in the northeast entrance of the Ascalon Settlement in Gendarran Fields (or maybe it was Nebo Terrace?).
If you want to see something really funny, make an old looking human character with the missing sister storyline. You’ll look like a wrinkly old tart and your sister will look 18. MAGIC!
