So just thought up an idea for a fun little topic… let’s come up with some Swears or exclamations the various races might use from now and then, or that you might have heard them use. I may as well list a few I’ve thought of/heard

Universal
By the Mists!

Human
By the Six!
Balthazar’s Axe!
Dwayna’s Wings!

Charr
By the Claw (Of the Khan-Ur)!

Norn
By the Spirits!
By the Bear!
Raven’s Wings!

Asura
My ears!
By the (Eternal) Alchemy!

Sylvari
By the (Pale) Tree!
By the Dream!

Yeah ok a lot of them start with “By The” but… hey I tried! Can you do better?

I think I heard one Charr say “Blood and Iron”.

Sylvari say things like “Thorns!” “Brambles!”

“My ears” has been used in a bunch of different ways by Asura, not all of them negative.

Exclamations are not always negative. Lots of people use curse words to display pleasure.

True, I was thinking s/he was looking for mostly swears.

Aye, I was looking for Swears, Exclamations, etc. “My God” for example is used as a curse, a swear, or just an exclamation. You know, that sort of thing.

By Ogden’s Hammer!

…yeah, I have no idea where that comes from, because I don’t remember Ogden Stonehealer using a Hammer. E. V. E. R. But if you’ve been to LA then you’ve heard it at least once.

I use “Lyssa’s Eyes!” a lot.

Norn: “By Raven” as in “By Raven, there is no end to Tyria”.

I’m pretty sure some Norn NPC in one of my personal storyline quests swore “by Bear’s bald butt”.

One of my rp’er friends is fond of ’Lyssa’s blood!’ And I’ve heard a few less forum-appropriate ones based on Lyssa… heheh.

Lyssa’s Blood… that’s a good one. I like it.
