UI clutter
You can get rid of the personal story by finishing it. I consider that the true reward for finishing the personal story, and it’s why I’ve finished it on all of my characters.
Person story would be tolerable if you could skip all the conversations, but since your dragged into watching half of them then there is no reward worth doing.
+1 for allowing people to remove UI elements from their screens. Choice is good. No choice no good.
Agreed, especially with the random closing tabs. If I want to keep tabs on my daily as well as whatever group events and hearts are up I should be able to and as far as I can tell the only reason I can’t is because the living story takes up 1 slot which I can’t remove. It’s not game breaking but it really does get annoying!
Yes, I hate how it minimizes actually important information like the achievement tracker and even what event is running right now. I don’t care for the personal story, and the living story doesn’t need to be on my screen at all times.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
My main criticism is names and titles in dungeons… Just awful.
Guild Wars 1, press “\” and shrink everything lol.
Guild Wars 2. Got to achievements and uncheck daily / monthly (I think that gets rid of it :/)
Alternatively clicking on the daily challenge ui element should minimise it (until you complete a part of it lol)

There are two additional issues with the UI clutter.
1. those living story notices are not transparent.
2. the UI interferes with ground targeting!
To give more detail on 2, if you initiate a ground targeted skill while the mouse is over a UI element the targeting circles is centered on your character. And if you drag the mouse over a UI element after getting the target circle, the UI takes precedence. And even if you try to use the skill by double tapping, rather than go off you get a “out of range” message.
I agree that living story and personal story nags should be optional as to whether or not they are displayed. And, while we are at it, the display of character titles should also be optional. Just a mass of clutter in any group.
ANET, please bring to GW2 the kind of UI adjustments that GW1 has.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I just want to be able to lock my mini-map in place so that I don’t accidentally move it instead of myself/camera angle when I’m in a big fight….too often has that gotten me killed. I like having the map there and it’s less than useful when I have to make it tiny. I’ve tried moving it to the top right and I don’t like that either as it just pushes all the text info down. :/
