Why is PvP the only sure way to get the water breather? There is no spvp water combat (even then it’d be standard PvP gear).
Why not make the meta achievement reward an ultimate gift?
Or have snowball arena work towards wintersday track.

Had the same issue last year, but that resolved itself after I got my first (and only) aquabreather because of how useless it is.

Stat selection is too limited, the ice effect is tied to the item and not a skin (doesn’t even have a unique skin), gets annoying after a few minutes of constant tinkling, and what little utility value it had was lost the moment ascended breathers (arguably easier to get as well) were introduced.

Before making it easier to get, I think ANet should address its flaws as a reward first.

Isn’t the only alternative a rare soldier’s breather? I’d rather have a zerker exotic breather.

Uhm, I got an exotic aquabreather from a Wintersday box. Not sure if it was a personal or regular one though, but I suddenly noticed a “some guy’s name” box in my inventory after opening all my presents on Day 1 and it contained a choice of 3 aquabreathers.

As I haven’t played PvP in ages I can confirm that they apparently drop from the Winterday Boxes. I just don’t know which one. Droprate seems abysmal though as I only got one in about 700-800 boxes opened so far. :P

Just recipe.. and no one bother with it .
