Q:
Unable to Salvage Zap Experiment
A:
Did you transmute it?
If you did , try transmute it back to the original appearance.
(Or did you transmute something else into it’s appearance, and the real one is actually somewhere else in your inventory?)
Just to be clear and remove the obvious obstacles as a possible issue. You aren’t trying to salvage;
- whilst equipped
- whilst right clicking a salvage kit and salvaging that way (it’s an exotic so it wont appear)
- whilst it’s in an invisible bag

while in the bank but soulbound to a different character …
I believe it has to be salvaged with the character it is soulbound to
Ouch, yes it could be that indeed if it is eoulbound and not account bound. How would you even get round that?

You salvage it it while on the right character? Unless you decided to bind it to a character then delete that character …
If they soulbound it to a diff toon, how would they xfer it back to salvage it?
Spirit of the Zap Experiment is account bound… you just salvage the zap experiment using whoever it is bound to.
Spirit of the Zap Experiment can also be sold to a vendor so toss it into the bank as soon as you get it.
It is in the inventory of the character that was using it, but not the same character who is a weapon crafter and is going to craft the next sword. I’m right clicking the salvage kit in my inventory, clicking use, and the icon for the sword is red. If I right click the sword itself, the only option (besides equip and preview) is “destroy.”
Is there another way to salvage that I’m missing maybe?
Edit: It is also not in my Safe Box, just a regular Mithril Box
Thanks! I was unaware that transmuting it changed the name as well. I found the proper sword in my bank. I feel like a dummy.
No worries.
We all have our doh! days.
