So I’m very curious how this can even be a thing… where the game prevents you from participating, because you tried to participate in the game. I joined two parties via LFG in hopes of joining a meta event, one after the other, but sadly both parties already had full maps and was unable to join. I am now barred from joining any parties for a substantial amount of time, to the point where there’s no chance of participating in the meta event… one that only occurs hours apart. By the time I can rejoin a party it’s pointless. Are you serious? You actually punish people for trying to group up, for trying to participate in your meta events? It’s not like I was even spam joining parties… I joined TWO! Yes I’m frustrated, as my time is limited, and I’m just amazed how such a thing even exists.

Yup, it’s a daft implementation of a decent idea. The idea is to stop someone trolling one or more LFG parties by joining, leaving, joining and just generally messing people about to be annoying. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have considered the scenario you describe. It sometimes happens to me in the Silverwastes when trying to join the event chain or a chest farm. I’m sure the devs are aware but it’s probably quite low priority.

I’m not necessarily against there being a lock out for joining too many parties. But the threshold is way too low. I’ve been in the same boat. Try to join a group, was apparently a smidge too late so got the party full message. Try another, same thing. Try a 3rd time and I’m locked out from partying.
