Just wondering if their character bound or account bound.

Going back to the beginning.

They originally were soul bound, one char use only. Later they were made account bound but you had to exchange between chars by going to the bank, unequipping them, putting them in the bank taking them out with another char and equipping them. Then the account bound slots came out. If you have them you can switch out through the slots. If not, you can leave them on a char or switch out between chars through the bank.

Account bound.

If you get the account bound slots you can put them in there. Have each of your chars have the regular tools you get from vendors. Then double click the tools in the account bound slot to switch out the tools your char has equipped. At the end of the time playing on that char double click on the regular tools in the account bound slots to re-equip them and to put the permanent tools back in the account bound slots for your next char to use.

So you need to buy acount bound slots for them to be useable?

I knew there was something fishy when the 1000 gem ones were labeled as account bound, but the pack was cheaper

Anyway one says account bound, one says account bound with special slots… which is it?

No. They were useable for years and were primary designed for one char use. The account bound slots means they are now easily used on all chars, not one.

They are account bound, but you still need to transfer them around if you want to use other toons. If you have shared inventory slots in your inventory panel, the process of transferring is quicker is all.

You need nothing else for them to be usable

They are account-bound. They are not account-wide.

There are account-wide slots one can place the tools in, so that every character has access to them (to equip).

that’s what I was hoping for, I was planning on using the bank.

that’s what I was hoping for, I was planning on using the bank.

That works at the cost of a little inconvenience. That’s how people switched them before the account bound slots became available. You’ll just need to get in the habit of making a stop at a bank at the end and beginning of each play period if you switch between characters frequently.

Or buy a 3k gold permanent bank access. ^^
