Anet are we ever likely to see an equivalent to GW1’s Underworld and Fissure of Woe. IE an instanced high level area that take 1-2 hours to complete. UW and Fow were brilliant taking a highly organized cooperative team to complete them and inspired brilliant team builds such as UWSC teams.

Current dungeons just dont offer the same challenge, being possible to complete in 20 min with a average random team.

Uh, highly organized and cooperative team to complete them? From what I recall the few times I did UW, it really only took someone with knowledge of completing it and the willingness of everyone to follow directions. It might have taken slightly longer than those highly organized and cooperative teams, but you could complete at least UW with a PuG. I can’t really speak for FoW as I only ventured in there a couple of times…and I can’t compare them to the live versions of GW2’s dungeons as I haven’t really set foot in them much(3 times total, dungeons aren’t my thing at least not the way most people seem to play them, which means I kill every mob thing around, and I know most like to just run past the trash mobs). I don’t think you’ll see the UW or FoW itself in GW2, but if they continue with this Guild Halls thing and with the Guild Raids, then maybe some day you’ll get the content you want, until then, you’ll just have to wait and see what happens I guess.

What GW2 could use is a little bit of risk of failure.

Remember the thrill in GW1 when the party gets almost wiped and one manages to run away, come back, and revive the monk, who then revives the rest of the party? We lost that in GW2. IF you wipse, you just go to waypoint or checkpoint and go on, and only time is lost.

That’s ok for learning and for more casual play, with pugs and no pressure. But others enjoy living a bit more on the edge with Damocles’ sword over their heads.

Maybe people enjoyed the additional story challenges that you could actually fail, and had must retry them if failed.

Lots of people loved the challenge of the Gauntlet because it was all or nothing.

An elite area that resets if the party wipes or an event is failed would do wonders to keep entertained people who wants a little bit of risk.

We better not. No one would play either area with my Paragon, bad designing.

Actually that was more because Paragon was badly designed.

Well, unless you played Imbagon, the only Paragon build people actually welcomed in groups.

The area was released with this problem, almost as if it were built against the profession.

Outside of Underworld and Fissure of Woe.

I too want the Underworld to return – such an awesome area. Same as FoW.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”
