Guild Wars 2

My computer simply won’t handle the upgrade of HoT. I want to continue playing until I purchase a new computer. I’m thinking of uninstalling Guild Wars and returning to the free version. What affect will this have on my character, purchase of extra bank slots, etc.?

It will affect your ability to play Guild Wars since HoT is tied with the original GW2 as well. You can try deleting everything then re-install with a new F2P account, but I think it’ll still have HoT, or at least some HoT elements with it.

If your Play4Free account is different from your HoT account, it won’t make any difference whether you uninstall or not.

If you wish to use the same account, you can’t ‘uninstall’ part of your account.

They all use the same client; it’s just a matter of what maps/features you have unlocked.

That’s too bad. I can’t play for more than ten minutes before getting booted. Not enough memory and I’m running 32 bit on an older laptop. I was hoping to play.

If you are using Windows 7 or higher, I believe MicroSoft offers an upgrade to 64-bit at no cost. You could investigate that possible solution.
