Is GW2 getting boring for you? Need some in game excitement? Come here to post and learn of unique challenges. For my first (and tedious) challenge, get to level 80 in one of the five tutorial missions: Explosive Intellect, Fury of the Dead, Defending Shaemoor, The Great Hunt, or Fighting the Nightmare. Good luck, and I’m looking forward to the challenges you’ll post.

I believe that is impossible, as none of the mobs now give XP to stop people doing just this.

You’re wrong. They still give exp, 3 per kill, just not loot.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience
a total of 4,860,359 exp is needed for level 80

4860359 / 3 = 1620119.66667
round up 1,620,120

need to kill 1.62 million mobs which gives 3 exp per kill.
depending on their spawn rate, say average can kill 10 per minute.

that is like 600 per hour.
or 1.2k per 2 hours casual run per day.
do it everyday. 365 days we get about 438,000

seems like we need 10 years to finish this.
if done casually.

aye, that challenge is unrealistic.

a more realistic challenge would be like, reach level 80 without dying.
could have few variations to this also:
- level up in WvW only
- level up in dungeons only after level 30
etc

yeah the /deaths command.
i made a mistake of trying to do this personal challenge during launch at day -3 of gw2.
back then, i should have joined my guild members to do dungeons more often.

back in those days. they were farming cadecious manor story mode for 26 silvers per 15 minutes. back then, 100 gems costs about 25 silvers.

my regrets for not joining them due to dungeons were hard and dying rate is very high.

in the end, i died anyway, at level 45++ in a level 50 area.
it was all in vain!

after that, i did not care much about dying anymore. well, apart from armor repair fees and way point fees.

but i did join guild members for dungeon runs in the end, and with enough silvers in my wallet deaths, armor repair fees, way point fees do not matter much anymore.
