Can we be done with this? Jumping puzzles don’t feel rewarding at all.

You get a grand chest containing a small portion of items which is fine but the idea of having these virtually useless things on the loot table is really lame.

Now I’m not saying “OMFG LETS GET GUARANTIED RARES AND EXOTICCS!!!” or anything like that. But what’s the point of these?

I can kinda of get Crests being an alternative to non existent stat allocations of gems, and I can understand that since a lot of fresh 80’s as well as leveling players can use them in gear to relatively viable degrees before getting an expensive rune set. (and this is only really the case with assassin cuz no there is little to no demand for the others lol)

One could make the same point about the masterwork and lower versions… but even presuming players are going to bother with them we’re talking about gear you replace every few levels anyways presuming leveling players even bother with jumping puzzles.

But even with crests I find it kind of silly to flood the loot tables with.

To make jumping puzzle loot more rewarding I think we should have guaranteed crafting mats, 2 pieces of gear, and 1 of the following: mark/crest, extra crafting mat, piece of gear. <- this being said I also feel jumping puzzle grand chests should also benefit from magic find.

The only problems I can see is that many people can be portaled to the end of a JP and get all the rewards without doing any of the work.

I"d like them to be more rewarding too. though. I love JPs.

I think this thread could be more geared towards the latest JP which totally defeats the purpose of portalling people to the end. You need to hit 9 milestones on your way, and while over time it could get easier as people know it better, it doesn’t justify the crap loot at the end.

I seem to recall a conversation some time ago about reward for effort. This isn’t being seen with this particular JP.

Who does jps for the loot? The first time I did a jp and got a box o crap at the end I was disappointed. Now that I can do most jps in <5 min I think the loot is about right.

I wonder if anyone’s set up a Portal chain through the new puzzle yet. It wouldn’t make sense to portal people to all the elements, but there are definitely places where the distance between one milestone and another covers a very short distance with a lot of annoying switchbacks, and using mesmer portals could still save a lot of time on those.

Well like anything in a game you do it because it’s fun. I was part of the PvP community LONG before any of the reward changes. With that said I’m sure enough posts like the one I’m doing now is what actually sparked change. If everyone followed the sentiment behind your useless nonconstructive comments PvP would be barren right now. After we lost a good chunk of top players in the early days there’d have been a terrible decline as the days ticked by.

The fact remains is you get useless stuff from jumping puzzles, when players should realistically be getting more than guaranteed vender trash. At least greens and crafting materials have a wide enough array of selection that you have a CHANCE of getting something useful.

As for portals: Well the way I see it a player needs to make it first, and every other player following afterwards would have made it themselves thus only saved a bit of time.

Also the rewards I’m suggesting is not greater than killing a champ which can take less time and less effort, and is farmable.

My real gripe is with the universal upgrades that flood the loot tables for no real reason.
