Unlimited Gathering tools
So 1 thread on the first page wasent enough?

I’ve seen this suggested before… a lot of people weren’t happy about it because there are people who have bought multiple infinite gathering tools for whatever reason (like the different animations, bought watchwork for sprockets, more convenient to have sets on their mains).
So… it would be unfair for somebody who didn’t spend as much to have the same advantage as somebody who spent more. If this happened, I don’t think A-net would be able to fully refund those who did buy say, the Log-r-tron and the Frost Wasp Axe. This is because they are two different products and the owners still get the aesthetic benefit of having different tools.
Moreover, this would decrease the sales for these types of tools. As already mentioned, lots of people buy multiple sets so they don’t have to constantly switch them across characters.
I can think of some potential work-arounds though. Perhaps A-net should implement more diverse drops from these tools (like Watchwork Pick producing sprockets) to entice people to have a selection and continue buying them. E.g. have the Bone tools give a chance to drop t1-6 bones (obviously higher chance for t1 bones). Have it so that only the original tool can drop these benefits whereas a “skinned” tool cannot, even though a “skinned” tool will be infinite.

No, due to that thread already deviating from what I’m asking for.. Also, the title isn’t as concise and catchy. You see, I did get you to read this didn’t I?

I’m fairly certain some compensation can be included to those whom have multiples of said items. This is no different than when they went from soul bound to account bound.
It would be nice to have gathering tools have there own tab in the wardrobe. Players would have a preview of said gathering tools before purchasing. Such a preview would be a secondary enticement toward purchasing and show instant feedback when available.
For adding anything that increases the return from using them, no. I believe they should be for convenience and esthetics only.
Another repeat of a suggestions folder favorite. It was asked for a long time ago they ignored it then too sadly.

I’d rather they discontinued the Watchwork pick type of sales. Infinite tools in gemshop are okay, since they offer only QoL improvement. Gemshop tools that offer additional drops are something that goes beyond QoL upgrade (and also open up the idea of gemshop gear progression). And this should not happen.
