Could we please be able to unlock or buy the Mistfire Wolf? I know it’s a special ability only give to those that got the game online (or something similiar) but I’d still be able to unlock the last ability on my list.

Perhaps we can pay for it with gems? I’d definitely buy it. I want that list full!

Upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.

You will even get the complete Deluxe Edition, opposed to my pre-ordered one that didn’t came with a 18 slot bag or a armor skin.

You can get it for gems. You could have since launch (I think). It’s part of the digital deluxe edition. I can’t remember the exact cost but I think it costs 2,000 gems.

But it comes with the following:
Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill*
Miniature Rytlock*
Golem Banker*
Chalice of Glory*
Tome of Influence*

I think if you upgrade now, you also get the heroic edition stuff as well:
Suit of Legacy Armor*
Mithril Box*
10 Experience Boosters*

But don’t quote me on that. Just go to the gem shop and you can see what’s included in the digital deluxe upgrade.

I feel the same way. Pre-ordered the CE and have a limited banker to show for it. Oh yeah and that mini that sits in my collections tab.

Are you guys really upset that 1 year after launch people who buy the game now can get 10 exp boosters (which I think are useless either because most people have all lvl 80s right now, or because of the achivement chests which gave a ton of boosters).

An 18 slot bag that costs like 1.2g to buy/craft. Or if you ran fractals at all since Dec you could have had free 20 slot bags (plus the free 20 slot bag from southsun, and the free 15 slot bag from wintersday).

And the armor skin, which you could have bought if you wanted it since launch for 400 gems. And back at launch that would have cost you ~2g, when the rates were 1g=~240 gems. Or 4g in October when the rates were 1g=~120 gems.

Plus not to mention all of the free LS updates since launch (and their respective back items or minis or whatever which you got usually in <5 hours).

Shouldn’t you be happy more people buy the game, and that means more money for Anet, which means more continued support and more free updates in the future.

I’m annoyed a lot by this most recent patch, but giving people an incentive to buy the game a year after it came out isn’t one of them.

Really its not unreasonable. They both bought the exact same thing. Fact one person got something more out of it buying it later is a bit screwed up. If you expand what it grants those who got it before hand should be grandfathered in to it as they have it already.

I don’t know, I do kinda find it unreasonable. They may have bought the exact same thing, but the people who bought it first got to play for the past year, and experience all of the game plus any LS stuff released during that time for free (and with the most recent patches they had the option of a month long farm fest, and a year of gaining a good amount of karma from dailies/monthlies). I argue that whoever bought it first got more out of it than any current buyers.

I mean I bought the CE game, the sound track, and the strategy guide (as silly as it is I’d rather buy that than gems personally). In the past year I got ~1.4k hours out of gw2. I sure as hell got my money’s worth. And as I stated most of those rewards are worth nothing (you can maybe argue the $5 skin, but if someone wanted it why didn’t they buy it within the past year). To reiterate the arguments that flooded the forums when the Heroic edition was first announced.

When the price dropped X months after release, did we all ask for the difference? If a company selling a product has a special deal does it apply retroactive to all previous purchases (see comment below)? This is their way to keep sales up. And again, more money for them, means more free content for all of us. I mean look at any video game, you can buy it at launch for full price. A year later (or two) there may be a GOTY edition that includes all the previous DLC. People who got the game at launch don’t get the DLC for free (or get reimbursed if they bought it already) just because now new people can buy the GOTY edition which includes all the older DLC.

The main (and possibly only way) I can agree with you, is for people that very recently upgraded to the Delux Edition. Like if you upgraded within a month (though whatever number you pick is going to anger someone) you’d also get the Heroic bonuses. That is something that I agree with, though I never followed the issue enough to see if that was a reality. (For example Nintendo compensated the first 3DS owners when the price dropped after the first ~2 months or so, but if the price dropped again everyone who already has had one for over a year isn’t going to get an additional kickback).

Technically, yes, all of this stuff is free, and it could have just been given to all of us with the CE or DD editions. It would have been nice if we were grandfathered in, but I don’t think it was worth all the complaining that was done (not specifically calling you out here, but just in general). If you buy something and a year later it goes on sale or has some special promotion “THING NOW INCLUDES X” the people who bought it the first time around don’t get X, but they got to use the product for all of the previous amount of time.

Many company’s extend/grandfather people into stuff. For example cell phone data packs. When i got my first phone i could get it with x data. Then later on down the road they were offering my pack with twice the data. All i had to do was log into my account and update its data. Nothing extra was needed. There are others examples but thats the easiest i could come up with as most people can relate given they have data phones anymore. That being said im not going to be upset or expect any refunds if someone got my same phone at a discount due to a sale. Reason being i was able to use my phone that entire time. I knew ahead of time the price would drop as time went and opted to have it instead of wait. Thats the trade off. Now them all of a sudden change the plan and not extend it to those who already had the plan would be outright silly. Basically this is what anet has done. They have taken the product and expanded it then left out those who own the exact same product. They dident pay any more than us and those of us that bought it ahead of time wouldent have ever expected them to expand what was included in the pack.

Companies that sell physical items, that require resources to build for every item, generally don’t, although some will do.

Companies that don’t sell physical items will generally do.

Even the humble bundles do that.

The sillier thing is that I can upgrade my second account, that cost me less than half, to deluxe and get it.

It would be just a nice gesture like with what they did with karma or giving some gemstore items to people that spent money in it.

It is a big concern?
Not really.

Ascended items are Anet biggest mistake and a kneejerk reaction.

@SiNoS.2147

A data plan for a phone is different. They have to keep their plan competitive or else people will just drop the plan and go to other company. For a data plan, u also have to pay monthly so they should upgrade the data whenever necessary.

But for the gw2 deluxe edition, u dun have to pay monthly so its not a plan. Its a one time purchase and u got what they stat there already so i dun think its a very fair comparison. Its more like buying a computer i suppose.

You don’t have to ‘put any points into’ Mistfire Wolf, that one is free.

Remember, you have to unlock the tiers of skills before it, first. I think, anyway…gee it’s been a long time.

Or maybe not. If it doesn’t unlock with your other elites, then you can always contact CS. Good luck. =)

Personally, I as someone who paid cash for the skill, I’d have no problem with making it available to everyone. Just make it cost a ridiculous number of skill points. 300 seems about right to me. That way they get to choose between a legendary weapon or unlocking a skill they’ll never use.

Don’t worry it’s not that hugely powerful. ANet is good about not having anything pay to win in the cash shop.

Very few people actually use it once they can afford the other elite skills.
