Do you think Anet is going to implement unlockable weapon skills in the furure?

With this im refering to skills that you spend skill points to unlock and can be changed out of combat (just like utility skills but un weapon skill bar).

This would add more ramdomness on the pvp encounters (in example when you see a warrior runing directly to you with a greatsword you are not 100% sure thakittens a easy bag of loot) .

What do you guys think

It sounds interesting but that would be a nightmare to balance, and players already complain a lot about balance. Imagine what happens within a few days after this happens and people search out the best weapons with the most higher-DPS abilities and stack them all on one weapon. GS warrior doing twice the normal damage with autoattack, then 3x damage, then 5x damage…

I think it would have to be so that each unlocked skill was only available on a specific skill slot, this to attempt to mitigate the scenario Tolunart mentions. Kinda like how you can only put elite skills in a specific slot. Meaning that you would find certain unlocked skills under #1 and so on.

True, I’m sure it could be done, I’m just glad I’m not the one who has to test all those skills and adjust their positions and power levels.

I would rather see three new skill bars unlocked for each weapon via Achievements.

Current weapon skills unlocked as per usual.

Second skill bar unlocked at 1000 kills with that weapon.

Third skill bar unlocked with 2000 kills.

Fourth skill bar unlocked at 5000 kills.

Skill bars can only be changed at the traits vendor.

Each skill bar has a different “theme” but equivalent in terms of overall damage. You might have a set of skills that all deal Poison damage, for example, or produce combo’s.
