Hello,

Today I managed to cap a new milestone in gw2 reaching 1800 hrs played, and yet the best drop Iv come across in those 1800 hrs is Tsunami (an exotic scepter with the same skin as the precursor storm) which I sold at the time for 7g 35s.

I decided to makes this thread to gain a perspective on loot drops usually obtained by players with roughly similar hours to me, or Just loot drops for other players in general.
I just want to know that its average for a player with my amount of hours to have found literally nothing worth more than 8g in my entire game play experience. Every silver that I have made in this game to fund my builds and other expenses I have grinded for over many long hours.

So share with me your “luck” Is my experience the norm? Or does everyone find items worth lots of gold every now and then?

Iv always looked forward to finding a precursor and being able to afford all those nice skins I see on people, but with 1800 hrs already spent Im starting to doubt that that happy day will ever come.

I’m the same; I’ve been playing for awhile and never seen over 10g.
No one accepts me into dungeons because I have no experience, if I want experience I need to pay them..

Any money I make gets put straight into better gear just so I can kill bosses.

I’ve hit 3.4k hours. My best drop was a 11g exotic that I looted during embers event. No precursors. No special exotics. Just some exotic with a good rune at the time. Also, I’ve had streaks of rare salvaging where I’ve salvaged 28 rares, 0 ecto. Also 21 rares, 0 ecto. 19 rares. 0 ecto. All of those in streaks. Took over 1.2k gold in keys to get my endless (which is now buyable). Spent 300g on sclerite boxes during the event for a ticket. They were then released and I bought one for 150g. They are now 50g.

Can’t you guys just spend a bit of those thousands of playing hours farming for gold.

A guy is flashing his 10 legendary in the crafting forum. And he says he just farm.

A reasonable point, however, I’m not talking about crafting a legendary. I actually place a higher priority on playing the game for fun, making a legendary would drive me mad. The most money Iv ever seen is 80g all of which I farmed. Don’t get me wrong, I can get by with the level of farming I do, im currently sitting on 40g with 4 fully kitted 80’s. I just wish that just one time, I could find 300g without having to work and work and work for it. And Im just wondering what the odds are of that still happening.

As I am approaching the 2,000 hrs mark.
Never had a precursor drop.
Never had a ascended drop (outside of fractals).
Had perhaps 10 exotics drop in all that time.
Most valuble drop a dye worth 40 gold.
2nd most valuble drop a exotic worth 3-4 gold.

Mystic Forge
Thrown thousands of rares/exotics in no precursor. Probably lost 100’s of gold doing that.

Btw I never AFK. So the nearly 2,000 hrs is real active play time…

If I had tried to play like that, I would have quit GW2 completely after a few 100 hrs, I need variety to keep me interested/playing. I can’t mindlessly repeat the same thing 1,000’s of times. My brain would fall apart…

How happy I would be just to find a 40g drop……

I found a zap(sold for 270 gold), and a venom(sold for 30 gold) after 3700 hours.

I dont’ think your odds are high. Not because of the game hours. Because you don’t farm. If you don’t farm, chance are your chance of precursor won’t be high.

I got my venom after 2000 cof path 1 run.
