so previously on lost:

Exotic berserker amulet listed as:
90 power
64 precision
5% crit

+25 power
+3%crit
15 precision

Ascended used to be listed in same way. ie. as if you had slotted the piece with a berserk jewel. ie. 2 sets of stats

Now ascended is listed like this:
115 Power
79Precision
8% Crit
Unused offensive / defensive nfusion

There si obviously no change to stats overall, but how about a heads up in the patch notes that you’re gonna change it?

There is actually more clarity with it in this form, I don’t understand your nitpicking.

I was a little confused when I first saw this because I didn’t know it was being changed. Of course, it took a few seconds to realize I hadn’t been shorted any stats (I could see my stats were still exactly the same) so I didn’t worry about it.

Really not that big of a deal, I kind of like the new way better anyway.

They totally went the wrong way with this. For example, in the OP, the 115 power should’ve been replaced with 115 lines of 1 power.

LOL. Yes, this alone would have made them completely OP!

Its a change, it should be a a frickin patch note .

This is a minor and unaffecting change…..others are not so minor. But they are equally unannounced.

Didn’t bother with bold or capital typeface because I dont like to come across as an angry shouty moron. Others styles my vary.

They always do little changed like these, I guess if they listed each individually patch notes would be too long.

For example, another change, before this last patch you had to talk to the settler or negotiation, ask what you could do for them, then click on “I’ll see what I can do” to receive the buff, now “I’ll see what I can do” is an option when you first talk to them.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

So is this ANet admitting that they can’t make gear with multiple slots?

Because the previous notation style looked like normal gear with a locked in place jewel to make room for a infusion slot. Now instead they look like every other gear except they have a infusion slot in place of a jewel/rune slot.

Finally, an intelligent response. Although the point was in fact more aimed at there being an unnanounced change (and one of many judging by the loot nerf threads), rather than the content of the actual change.

I have to agree here, if you look at past patch notes they did put in UI changes that really didn’t do anything to the gameplay or functionality. If they are going to bother posting patch notes, they should prolly go ahead and list stuff like this, in case there is some confusion (as there often is). This is true of all the skill wording updates they put in as well, didn’t change anything about the skill. There’s really no good reason not to, IMO.

While I’ll agree this seems to be a petty complaint, the larger picture here is ANet should probably go ahead and publish all changes, no matter how trivial.

You… are legitimately angry that they combined numbers correctly and didn’t explicitly list it?

Wouldn’t that information be taken care of when you… saw it in game?

I don’t think a lack of molly coddling and hand holding is a lack of regard for the consumer. They clearly view us as a group of people who can reasonable work out insignificant changes on our own. I think I would be more offended if they felt they had to chew up my food before I ate it and put every line of code they changed into the patch notes.

Like others have mentioned, I don’t think there is argumentative integrity in correcting someone on their grammar, and then getting all kitten y when they do the same to yours. It makes you look like a child who is throwing a tantrum for being called out on his hypocritical and petty name calling.

They keep handing the list of changes to the intern just before his lunch break. If he didn’t have 15 minutes to type everything up before his ride leaves for McD’s maybe he wouldn’t edit out the boring stuff.

This is a valid complaint:

Every update has changes that have not been documented. Always have to check the wiki for a more complete image; which leaves me wondering what else they left out of their notes. Would like a minor updates/fixes section.

The karka queen section of the last set of update notes still leads to numerous confused Southsun adventurers. Don’t understand why this isn’t edited out. Not much to localize about a deletion. Yes it’s mentioned elsewhere, but not where everyone checks for updates.

Since my reply was deleted as I quoted a deleted post let me restate:

I am all for transparency, however, I am not upset by a change this minor being left out of the list when it is obvious to me what they did and that it had absolutely no affect on the item or game-play.

They make a lot of unannounced “changes”, either things like this where nothing has really changed or minor bug fixes.

For example I like to talk to all the NPCs as I’m exploring maps, and in the process I come across a lot of text bugs, usually minor typos but sometimes things like missing or broken dialogue options. Every so often I’ll remember one (or be in the same area) and go back to see if it’s been fixed and almost every time I find it has been.

But even as the person reporting them I wouldn’t want to see patch notes full of “Fisherman Bob now correctly tells you the size of the giant salmon his grandfather caught”
“Mary in Harathi Hinterlands no longer ignores players who ask her what’s wrong”
And so on.

Especially when it’d only lead to more people refusing to read the patch notes because it’s too long and then complaining that they didn’t know about a particular change.

I don’t think being upset is a cause to make a post, simply pointing out the change is nice added bonus, since i noticed it and check the wiki to make sure it wasn’t an actual stat change. I certainly didn’t have the stats memorized, but i did notice the change in format. Not reading about this change in the patch notes prompted me to do a bit of extra digging just to see what the change was. I agree it’s minor and might seem petty, but it does save people from doing a bit extra research.

It was my post you replied to and mine were deleted as well incurring an infraction even though it was honest and truthful. Seems like double standards for posting is going on because there are FAR WORSE posts/replies on these forums than what I stated. ANYWHO, if I offended anyone, so sorry.
