Who cares? You can afk111111spam and still win in pve. Actualy, chronobunkers and mallyx rev are making ESL pro league beyond boring to watch. They need to do something.
And once again WvW is not your priority as you claimed it would be after HoT release!

I’m sure you’re not refering to the Chrono bunker’s shield 4 skill are you? Only somebody lacking common sense and reasoning would be using that in PVE.
I look forward to personally kicking the first chronomancer I see using shield in pve just like I would do if they’re using scepter.
But of course you weren’t referencing the shield’s 4 skill because that would be insane for somebody to actually be worried about pve balance in relationship to that particular skill which is entirely useless for pve.

Dont worry they will. Though it will come within a few months of GW3 being released just like how they did it in GW1. Anet has a tendency to release anything that’s important way to late. Anet needs to open up a whole new studio just to fix bugs seeing as how slow they are.
if you can fix that rune why can’t you fix rune of the berserker? :\ it’s been like 2 weeks or something already since the patch that bugged out the rune set and there was no response at all
Wow 4 changes to two classes, a change to a map and a bug fix on a rune set.
And it won’t all manage to make it into the patch.
Steady on guys, someone’s in danger of actually doing some work.
The fact that you felt introducing 1 class and 9 elite specialisations counted as a ‘balance patch’ when it put the balance into it’s worst state ever shows just how disconnected with class balance you guys are.
The nerf to Shield #4 can be a blessing and a curse in PvE: we’ll have slightly faster iAvenger spawns, but with a smaller execution window. Of course they’ll refuse to split it, but hey, e-sports and such – it’s not like PvE content drives gemstore purchases or anything.
(As an aside, I’m so glad I resisted the temptation to begin working on The Chosen. Players who purchased/crafted The Juggernaut for their Revenants are going to be pretty miffed tomorrow.)

Revealed, confusion, and pet/minion/illusion damage mitigation have been split because PvE mechanics are vastly different than PvP. The framework is set in place, but it seems Anet is just unwilling to fully utilize it, and is demeaning the intelligence of its audience as a cop out.

The old ‘who cares spam 1 in pve’ argument, yeah no. Not only is it not true it doesn’t matter. The majority of people who play this game play pve and we play pve to have fun, we are fed up of our classes being made less fun due to the whines of people who care about cringe inducing things like esports.
Quite frankly I honestly think the people who do run around events spamming 1 have a better grasp of the mechanics of the game then the PvPers. At least they are actually playing the game, pvpers just sit on the forums whining that ‘insert which ever class was used in the last tournament here’ is too OP for them to learn how to beat while waiting for a new build to go up on metabattle so they can declare that OP.

I’m glad that kill the shield of mesmer. Indeed mesmer tank is too strong, it is not right we too tank classes, except element, that is with us all the boon and traits that make it immune from the conditions.
But we do not talk about this, you know why I like the fact that you kill the four skills of the shield? Why do not you want to play the mesmer tank, just do not like ’idea to stay in defensive, I like to play dps and condition, but please, help mesmer so I can play it in some other way, because the present moment you can not do other than the tank, and if you kill me as well that ….

It’s not. They were not planning to do any balance until after leagues. But they are making these adjustments because of these issues being too game breaking.

I basically do in PvE and am fine. Don’t pretend that wvw/pvp players don’t know/play PvE.
I have been pretty mad when I was a noob and found that my ranger didn’t do decent damage with his longbow (2 years ago) – now I get why this should’ve stayed like that. And I guess I had also understood without setting a foot into wvw.
Now raids might be something differently but anet can always nerf the mobs without them complaining on the forums.
And I’m really not sure if the PvE crowd is as important as you guys think – or if all those would be outraged if one of their OP skills would be nerfed.
People don’t want PvE touched much because this current iteration has some of the highest amount of diversity ever. Every class can perform several roles decently or well and no class is really left out. Some are a bit lacking, but you can do any content and add to it now.
In raids, a very large amount of team compositions and strategies are very viable and have different strengths. So, while one skill (or trait or whatever) might be too powerful in PvP or WvW, it might just be pretty good in certain aspects of PvE. Then the Balance patch comes in and the skill is okay in PvP/WvW now, but completely worthless in PvE which could, in drastic cases, kill off a PvE build or make it so that class is dropped from the content (this is pretty severe and hasn’t happened much at all, but no one wants their main class to be unwanted in PvE).

Even the top teams admitted that mesmer is overpowered.
This is the wrong fix for Coalesence of Ruin. The Cruel Repercussion trait needs a complete rework. The 50% damage increase is a huge part of the problem, because it creates very large damage spikes (which many mistake for being stock CoR damage). This change only addresses that in the instance where there are large numbers of targets (and some are not at max range). This has been discussed repeatedly in the Revenant forums. Reducing the number of targets to 5 might will prevent the huge damage spikes in some situations, but not all, and while it may be a fine change for WvW, it decreases the ability to tag large numbers of enemies in PvE unnecessarily.
Kind of bummed about the Radiant Revival change, but can understand why it was made and think it is still useful.

WvW is not being supported as they said, PvP is being molested even thought they “would support it”…

See how the second hit is MUCH bigger than the first, even though both are crits? This is because of the cruel repercussion trait, which is a big part of the problem. It is worth noting that the trait is on a 15 second cooldown, but even so, the design of the trait is simply bad for the game. I’m not saying additional changes won’t be needed, but the change they have made does not address the biggest part of the problem.

Just to be clear, I’m not saying that is all that needs to be done. We all know CoR is very strong and could probably use a tweak. But as you said, this change is not fun for PvE and isn’t going to stop the ludicrous crits.

Smokescale and Bristleback, if those two are what you are refering to, are regular ranger pets. You should probably specify that before giving Anet any ideas..

The “changes” for both Mesmer and Revenant will hurt PvE builds way much more than PvP builds, the state of the game as a whole in terms of balance in PvP at least it’s a mess and that’s because the balance team refuses to separate game modes for balancing, if it wasn’t for that the game wouldn’t be in that war of attrition of “x class is usesless” as it always is, as far as Revenant goes you’ve just pigeonholed all of the builds to Shiro/Herald Power specs, the more time the game modes remain under the same effects the balancing will be harder, specially because you add a lot of traits and skills that are pretty weak in comparison to others.
Coalesce of ruin can still hit the same person twice. Pls add a 0.5s cd per person.

players coming forum to complain about the game, Anet has spoken and will do the balancing, play with my ranger that is core and yet I drop many elite classes because it’s more skill that balancing.
I admit that at the beginning was more unbalanced lately walks better than before.
Now I must admit that Gaile warrior or thief core need buff again, I usually play ranger and even warrior, ranger is my main and I know the need to improve warrior and thief.

As mentioned in our “Road Ahead for 2015” blog, our strategy for adjusting the meta-game in Guild Wars 2 after the release of Heart of Thorns focuses on releasing balance updates on a set cycle – each and every quarter.
Your strategy isn’t good.
First of all you need to fix broken skills that do 17-20k damage like Coalescence of Ruin or Gun Flame on the week we find out the issues, not 3 months later, because these press 1 button to win skills are ruining the game for everyone in the competitive modes.
Secondly, we don’t want “meta changes” where you are just stuck into playing the same build for 3 months. We want balanced skills so that we can have Build variety as it was promised with the new trait system. The players should be dictating the meta by creative thinking, Anet shouldn’t be dictating it for them and cornering them into meta-builds that they have no choice to run, as it currently is.

Thanks, I must be doing something wrong then. My highest crit with CoR was about 10 k, usually I hit 6-7k with it. Still feels a bit too much for a skill with a 2 sec cd, but 17k, wow.

Just because we main a character it doesnt mean we need to be blind about it. A good player sees the weak and the strong sides of his own character as well, not just complaining about the others!

by the sounds of the information, the balancing patch coming at the end of January isnt actually a bog standard numbers thing, rather a complete attempt at it, Warriors and Thiefs are too far gone for a Numbers hotfix to realistically fix, both us and A-net know that tbh to claim otherwise is silly.
they could buff anything on the warrior/thief skillset it wont make them any better, the proffessions and Elites both need a Major look into and change tbh, to pray on that happening mid season is ridiculous, they cant overhaul a proffession in the middle of Seasons as it’d put any warrior main out there at a disadvantage and disabling a entire proffession Once again would be ridiculous.
no it isnt great, no the meta isnt the best, but changing things from blur etc etc would put the game competitively at a fault as it’d change the entire team lists in the middle of ESLs which would put the players at a disadvantage, they cant do anything which will be performance affecting as it’d just not look proffessional at all.
Sadly atleast i and many knew, that warrior/thief wasnt going to see a revival this early on. atleast we have been given some information to what is going on.
