Update on Precursors?
Nothing happened.
Maybe next year… My guess it’s that you’ll know something more about that when Wildstar and Elder Scrolls Online will be released, and the crap will hit the fan for real.
They said that Precursor crafting have a good change of NOT making it this year. It doesn’t mean it won’t be this year but consider it to be next year.

As mentioned at the end of the blog, as always things are subject to change as test and prepare various systems. Most of the stuff covered in the blog you’ve already seen implemented, or steps towards being implemented, however the precursor building (and corresponding additional legendary items) is the one highest at risk to not make it this year.
It is still something we absolutely plan to do!
Personally I got tired of RNG and waiting, so I decided to farm and got my Dawn yesterday, (partly thanks to a lucky drop in AC in a random chest I found The Energizer). They said they are bringing it out When its ready so I will wait for it to craft The Legend, which right now is still on the 8xx gold so it is a big no-no for me.
All I can tell you is, dont expect too much and you wont be disappointed, it is a life advise that has worked wonders for me.

I would love to hear if the situation is still the same, has improved or if the chances have decreased.

So, I wouldn’t suggest you hold your breath for it, because i) that 99.9% chance it won’t make it this year if they admits that much and ii) even if they rush to finish it, I probably don’t like that. “Rush” and “legendary” shouldn’t stand in the same sentence.

Doesn’t change the fact that Arena Net said that they’re already working on Precursor Hunt back in January, I don’t have the link, It’s somewhere on GW2Guru.
I’ve gotten the lover dawn and dusk out the forge I dont understand why cant get precursors or people say there so hard to get I got the lover used that money to buy mats towards legendar I then got dawn out the forge using rare swords but I didnt need dawn as I was making twilight so needed dusk and was impatient so I use all that gold to buy rare swords and made dusk all in two day span so I dont see why people cant get pre cursors I got three out forge no problem using rares the lover was with zero magic find gear out of the forge before the magic find change and the other two were with 92% magic find with the new changes so I dont know what to say.
Maybe this is how they are planning to keep players playing?

That is what the quote from Colin is about. They are working on it, and it will be released when it’s ready. There probably won’t be any more discussion about it until then, so all you can do is wait and watch for an announcement.

Magic Find has no effect on the Mystic Forge, or chests/bags and so on. There is a small, fixed chance of getting a precursor from various activities. Some people get lucky, some don’t. It’s the ones who weren’t lucky who complain the most.
They are working on a non-random way to obtain a precursor, besides buying it from the TP. Some of the people complaining are impatient and want it to be introduced into the game before Anet is ready to do so.
The precursor hunt doesn’t exist anymore. Now they want you to craft them.
It’s probably gonna be time gated, like ascended weapons. It’s probably gonna take so long that it will be faster to farm gold and buy the precursor.

You got 3 precursors and now you think it’s easy?

MF gear never affected the forge.. lol
And you are beyond arrogant with your luck; many many others have dropped 500g+ and have gotten nothing.

ehhh to be honest, even if they gave away precursors, legendaries would still be super expensive, most likely all of the mats would go up. It wuld just be a finite thing
