Stuck in the INITIALIZING phase of the update? Here’s how I got up and running again:
It was SweetFX in my case. (GemFX is apparently a similar program that once removed is getting people over this hump. I can’t help with the specifics here, sorry).
I tried removing the files from my game directory to no avail. It was only after removing them from my BIN subdirectory, that the load continued past the Initialization stage.
If using SweetFX, look in the BIN folder for:
- d3d9.dll
- dxgi.dll
- injector.ini
Move them elsewhere, or delete ’em entirely.
Man, I’m really going to miss SweetFX. I hope they manage to make it compatible again!
