Updates/fixes only once a month again?

It’s been now 2 weeks since last bigger patch. Since it we have have some minor fixes and routine maintenance if I remember rightly.

This same happened between the end of halloween event and before the start of Lost Shores. There were no other patches really during that period.

So, can we now also be predicting updates only for once a month? Will there be no more weekly patches?

If this is going to happen, I fear we might see big patches once a month which are as bugged as Lost Shores event since we get only one update in a month which includes all the new content and then we get all those new bugs and then, it’s hard to fix that all.

This game is great ANet. Don’t ruin it now!

TL;DR More Fixes, Less New Content!

Wow, you seem impatient.

Also, during the events, for most of the phase patches there were fixes for other stuff rolled out, so I don’t know what you are referring to… the pace seems great to me.

I’m all fine with this. If it comes only once a month it’s fine for me IF it works well.
But, if it comes like Lost Shores, a big patch after 1 month waiting (There were some minor patches too during that period as stated in first post) and it is bugged like it it was, THEN I’m not fine with it.

By still giving us the minor updates they could let us test the bug fixes and see if there is bugs needing for fixes. But if it comes only once a month you can be expecting all that rage people will be making since they waited it so long and then they find it all ruined.

On my own view, I’m not being impatient. I just want to see this game succes and now after Lost Shores you can clearly see what people now think about ANet and the things they have done.

I would be even all fine if there would be no wintersday event at all. I would just want the game to be fixed.

TL;DR Again, More Fixes, Less New Content!

new content only every few weeks/months, great, don’t need it too often anyway, lots of not-so-hardcore people will still have enough to do within the game for a while.

bugfixes of the worst bugs (some introduced by the large content-updates) are needed much sooner, either through a hotfix on one of the following days (like the rangers CD bug got fixed within hours) or at least within a week.. just letting the new bugs sit is extremely annoying for the players (like the evasive arcana bug, which didn’t fix the problem but destroyed the trait completely. the new behaviour doesn’t sound as it was intended, but nobody knows, there’s no communication).

so yeah, until the worst bugs are addressed (it seems every class has its own list of bugs in the forums) and the game stabilizes, we should definately get weekly patches. once everything works for most parts (animation or tooltip bugs aren’t that important), balance finetuning should begin and take a bit longer (2-4 weeks) to see how a change pans out.

Wow it is true people are never satisfied !
What other mmo gives you this much quality content for free every single month ?
NONE !

Most mmo’s give you small patches once a month and paid content every 6 months,
A,net gives you tons of new content on a monthly basis and people still complain !

Sure there are bugs, but the game is playable and those bugs are only minor annoyances, none of them are major game breakers !

Get off your high horse, bugs will be fixed in due time !
entitled much !

Not sure about what you are saying.

I love the game and content they give. BUT the amount of bugs included in now in their events (halloween,Lost Shores) is too high for most people. As I said in my original post I don’t need more content so it’s not that I want more and more. I want fixes and the best way to fix things is fix everything in part by part in small updates.

For example: You do small fixes for a car and see how those work. You don’t do lot of fixes and then see how it works if it anymore even works.

Give us one big update including fixes, new content and others and if it works you get much good credit for your work. (risky but you might get more profit)
Fail in those fixes and in making that new contect and giving it out rightly and you will have everyones rage and hate on your shoulders at once.

As sad as it looks, we are going to get our next patch not earlier than for wintersday
I was in hope of getting atleast the fix for Fractals, to get back when you dc, today.
(Took this as example, since so many run that currently.)

Do we really need to wait for nearly 2 weeks still for fix for that?

Is the future of GW2 updates going to look like this too. (Major fixes only once a month)

I, again, fear the same as with Lost Shores. Wintersday will be awfully bugged and even lagging in worst cases and people will rage as much as they did during that event.

I will stay in GW2, of course, even thought this seems to be the case. The game is great but it lags in fixes and in same time it get’s more content which is sadly quite bugged too.

I’m still hoping for more fixes and for less new content since currently the dungeons (not all) are still containing many bugs or not working at all sometimes. Please, take more time fixing and less for adding everything new.

i agree with OP
its ok if they release new content once a month,(its good even if they release new contents every 2 or 3 months, if the game is stable) but its pretty useless release balance and bug fixes once a month, when you know that you game is a lot bugged, and a lot unbalanced.
Bug fixes must be done on weekly basis, so players can test and report what dont work.

Because, like Guild Wars before it, GW2 doesn’t fall into the traps of traditional MMORPGs.
It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill"

Thought I’d agree with the “community” for once. Once a week or two, I think, would still be useful for them.
