I have installed the game from CD (about 13.5 GB) how many GB do I need to download to be up to date with the current patch?

My Guild Wars 2 is 19.9 GB. So you have at least 6.4GB to download, but more then likely a lot more than that because they modified files as well.

Did you actually install it from the CD? By default, if you run the setup off the CD, it will actually download the game without using the CD. To actually use it, you have to manually copy the files.

Assuming you actually did use the content on the CD, you probably have around 10 GB to download. The game is roughly 20 GB total and probably up to 50% of the original CD is outdated.

I did install it directly from the CD.

GW2 is an ever evolving MMO… You pretty much need to redownload all of it.

so like how much from the original disk will need replacing to be inline with the current patch? I need figures.

We have no way of knowing this, we do not know how many of the files have been modified from the disk version to what we have today.

Best case scenario is you need to download 6.4 GB more of data, worse case scenario you need to download 19.9 GB of data.

Its a shame the Anet does not tell you how much you need to download from the patcher

This is a most correct answer as i am installing the game myself as we speak. Did the CD install and now i downloaded 5.5 gigs and i am almost done.

well please let me know then I can make a decision on when to update it.

Are you on some kind of data capped plan?

There are a lot of services with in the US that still have a very low data cap.

Ok so total size of patching after installing from CD is 9.5 gigs.
