They have? I’ve only heard about the ones at The Shatterer.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I’d like to suggest adding an updraft to the Crown Pavilion. Hours of fun! Have one centered in the center and for events have multiple improved drafts! Even more fun.

There’s at least one in Orr west of rally waypoint. Takes you to the temple. It’s very nice.
I would love this, but I can see it as a huge hassle for the devs to balance them out. I’d like to see this, but understand it’s a back-burner issue.

done by now.”

There is one at harathi where the little fishing village is on the east side. I believe Maelstrom may have one as well
Only place I would like updrafts is during the shatterer fight. I mostly get to throw either one or two abilities before I hit the ground, if lucky
I had seen one jumppad somewhere in the middle of Sparkfly Fen aswell.

You should have time to use each ability 3-4 times before you land, it’s not intended to let people glide forever there, which I’m fine with.

II’ve seen at least 3 of the jump pads in Harathi Hinterlands since the patch. Although they seem to be bugged, as every time I jump on them I don’t actually get launched at all, but rather just land back on the ground and get a popup saying I need to train basic glider mastery before I can use them (even though I have it already, am up to Stealth Gliding in fact).
Maybe its because I’m on a sub-level 80 character. I can still glide just fine all the same, but perhaps something in the code is detecting my level being below 80 and assuming I can’t? Will have to test that.
EDIT: Nope, went and tested on a level 80 and didn’t work either. And another player nearby said the same thing. But then from some of the other responses in the thread they must be working for some people. Or perhaps certain ones are active and others aren’t? Someone who has had the launch pads work want to test the ones in Harathi, like the one right near Seraph’s Landing waypoint?
As for updrafts… I really don’t see the need. HoT areas were designed to need updrafts and more sustained flight, but that’s not really a thing for core Tyria. And there are still plenty of areas you can jump off and get a really long flight anyway.

There are numerous jump pads for the Tequatl event, those are not new.
Same for me, and i think you cant glide from the jump pads of Tequatl since they’re added a lot before HoT, but im not sure
Here’s the wiki site for the ones reported to wiki so far: Launch Pad
And 2 others, reported on another thread, that don’t seem to be in wiki.
- Malchor’s Leap – South East – (Doric’s Waypoint) [&BKcCAAA=]
- Malchor’s Leap – North West – (Shelter Docks PoI) [&BJsCAAA=]
ANet may give it to you.

I saw this happen in Cursed Shore. There was a jump pad at Meddler’s WP, and I was able to use it just fine several times, but another player seemed to just jitter on top of it, so it does seem to only effect some players.

Something you have to keep in mind is that if we are allowed to move higher than
a certain point in the old maps,we will be able to see past the borders to what in most cases will be emptiness and just the water level textures.
It will be really immersion breaking.
lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-

True, but even if they do add updrafts, they obviously wouldn’t have to put them everywhere. Nobody’s suggesting they put a “VB canopy” updraft that puts you so high that you can glide off any edge of the map you like, if they added some, they would likely be more near the middle of the map, allowing you to more cleanly glide across it in one motion. A simple example of this might be Lornar’s Pass, which is lovely for gliding, btw, but a few updrafts in the middle of valleys could allow you to cross them while maintaining altitude, without ever letting you land higher than the peaks.
