250 gems each, 5 for 1.1k, and 25 for 5k. 20 gold for 1. Seems way overpriced. Might as well just rebuy any upgrade, rather than use this. Anyone disagree?

WAY overpriced but they don’t really care about gem prices. Same goes for that TRAIT reset thing

When people do not buy the price will go down. Or they will remove the product.

And once again people are under the illusion that they base the price on the gold to gem trading rather than the actual “value” of gems.

250 gems is about $3, and that is not really that much in my eyes. Especially not since they work on removing Infusions, and thus saving you quite some time and money when upgrading them.

Why would I pay 3 dollars to get the upgrade remover when I can get 19 gold for by trading it in, buying the most expensive rune (divinity, 11 gold) or sigil (generosity, 15 gold) and have 4-8 gold left over?

I was simply pointing out that it is a rather faulty logic to complain about prices based on the gold to gem trading, since they don’t base the price around that.

Okay, so here’s the thing.

If you have a piece of armor that cannot be salvaged(such as Karma bought armor or WvW bought armor) and it has an upgrade in it, you still do not need this new item. Why? just take a transmutation crystal(40gems) and transmute the rune only onto your new piece of armor. Much cheaper.

Of course you lose the exotic that would have been salvaged, but you couldnt salvage it anyway because it was karma/wvw armor…

That does however not work on Infusions, and it definitely won’t work if you want to use the Infusion to upgrade it to the next level.

It has been in the dat-file for months, I do not think it is a coincident that they release it to live soon after upgradeble infusions were added.

Probably just used for infusions…

Oh yes, infusions, I had forgotten. But I did a quick check on the TP, and it looks like anything under a +8 infusion, it’s better to rebuy it than this thing.

Even 3 dollars is expensive for a one time use item like that.

Another item you don’t technically need. Also I’m sure they need the money.

I could come up with a way to make it non-crummy: gift 1 to friend, buy 25 at 40% off, only use on runes of divinity. 130 gems each costs 9.88g to get, divinity rune sells for 10.8g. net loss of only 70s. sorry, that’s as close as I can get.

does this also remove the soulbound and accountbound part of the item?
if so, then I’ll definitely buy 50 of these.

Not a chance. If it did, it’d be worth 10 times it’s price.
