Well first of all, cannot salvage WvW gear, has runes of melandru on all 6.

The most expensive superior rune costs under 13 gold.
The most expensive sigil costs 82g.
The most expensive infusion is 550g.

The current price of an upgrade extractor via gold-gems is just under 40g!!!

So is this item supposed to be just for those players who run fractals?!
As a WvW only player I cannot afford such luxuries :P

essentially, been saying for a long time they need to make it so wvw/karma gear can be salvageable for upgrades. I dont care about the ectos,mats,inscriptions, I just want the upgrades back. 250gems at the current ratio is not worth it. Basically the best thing to do is gear with expensive runes, put on salvagable gear, cheaper runes on wvw/karma gear

I stopped buying karma & wvw gear because 1-there is no warning saying you can’t salvage it (so if I forget where I got it and put something expensive on it I’m screwed). and 2- I like to be able to salvage gear if I decide to change.

The last time I looked there were 6 upgrades out of the hundreds available that it was cost effective to get the extractor for.

I refuse to buy the extractors with any form of currency. There needs to either be a rune/sigil only version that costs significantly less or let us salvage karma/wvw gear just for the upgrades.

The fact that unless you know you can’t salvage it bothers me. There is no warning anywhere stating that they can’t be salvaged. While most of us know already, imagine a new person coming in and getting gear from wvw or with karma then finding out after spending most of their gold on runes they wanted a different armor stat…now all their gold is stuck in unsalvageable gear with no way to get their runes back except to spend more than they’re worth on gem store extractors. It is not right and I will refuse to buy extractors until something is done. I’ve got several sets of armor I want the runes out of, but until this is fixed that armor will just sit there with the runes firmly attached.

yea its just ridiculous, and has gone on for to long. And really nobody is asking to be able to get mats or anything from this gear, just let us get the kitten upgrades back. Still need a bl kit to guarantee an upgrade salvage, cant understand why they wont make this much needed change.

The price of extractors, and the fact you can’t just salvage back your upgrades (from wvw or karma armor) via in-game obtainable items is a joke. I remember when they first came out my whole guild was basically like “wtf? 1 use for 250 gems?” I could only see using one of these if you made a colossal mistake with an expensive infusion on a hard-to-replace item. Otherwise they are worthless.
