I have a question about this, and it’s not in the support page.
What i want to know is if you can upgrade a free account using gems in game to upgrade to digital deluxe edition.

nope, you cannot upgrade to digital deluxe using gems if you don’t have a paid account.
to upgrade to Core Deluxe you must have at least the Standard Core account.
to upgrade to HoT Deluxe you must have the Standard HoT account.

You must purchase (with cash) the game before upgrading to Digital Deluxe editions.
Best to purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate at that time, if interested, rather than upgrading later.
