Monthly? I reckon you’d be fine providing you don’t play eight hours a day, or use it for downloading patches. Are you able to check your daily usage to see how much it uses for a normal session?

edit: maybe not, based on the other replies.

Fire up the Hyperbowl ma, we’re going to town!

Wll if you have the whole game downloaded, dont you have a command/service to look how much you have used?

Go to LA/DR, or just play the game. Then look up how much you have left after X hours?

Personally when I had issues with my broadband back with GW1. I was able to play the game perfectly fine on ISDN with 0 lagg. Then again thats years ago.

Depending on your device’s OS you could try something like PDANet to get around that limit. Before you try something like that you should definitely learn the risks though. Some wireless providers don’t care, others will cut off your internet access entirely. I’ve made limited use of mine (~500mb a month, normally my plan includes 3gb) with no problem for half a year.

I also have to watch my bandwidth. standard play will go through ~50/60MB an hour, intensive play (WvW zerging for example) can go through 150~200 MB/hour.

You will at best get 20 hours of play from 1GB, not including any other things you want to use your mobile data for

1GB per month limit? I’m not sure it can be done. There are the updates if nothing else that will use that up in a month or less.

I don’t measure my Guild Wars 2 only use but 100MB – 200MB/day wouldn’t be too unlikely.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

If I use my 4G as internet instead of my home modem how much does it eats playing this game I have 1GB limit.

I did this back in November while I was waiting for my cable Internet to be installed. I don’t recall exactly, but it wasn’t much. Usually less than 60 MB for a night of play. The highest it got playing most of Saturday afternoon and evening was around 150 MB. I have an unlimited 4G plan though so I never paid that close attention to it. I checked it mostly out of curiosity.

Latency is the big issue. Or rather, variability in latency. My 4G ping time was about 12 ms, but it occasionally (few times an hour) spiked up to over 200 ms. Probably from other cell phone users using a burst of data. Big events in particular were very laggy. So zerg WvW is probably out of the question. The game option not to load other character models probably helps a lot.

The updates will kill you, but those can probably be done at McDonalds or Starbucks.

The download rate depends on what you are doing in the game.
If you are only doing Solo PVE type stuff with no other players involved, then the download rate is quite low 5 – 10 Kbs, but if you are doing group type activities or running around in Lions Arch or anywhere else where theres a lot of other players, the the download rate will rocket up into the 100+Kbs.
Worst case scenerio 20 – 40 MB per hour, so your 1 GB wont last long unless you play extremely casually.
Theres also a variable latency problem with wireless which is dependant on the loading of the 4G tower that you are using.
