So, I really love self torture and gambling, and I’ve decided I want to try and craft Bolt.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut I don’t have zap yet, and I dont have the IRL or ingame funds to buy the precursor. So I’m going to try and play the Mystic Forge, and if I get any other precursor I’ll probably sell it.

The thing is, I don’t know how it works. Lmao. I’ve only played off-and-on for a year or two, and never bothered to fiddle with it. How do I work the Mystic Forge to have the highest possibility of spitting out a prec?

(Also, I dont have HoT yet. So I can’t just craft it.)

you put 4 rare weapons in it for a little chance of an exotic weapon random or a random rare weapon.
if you put 4 of the same weapon you have a better chance of getting the same weapon rare or small to have the same weapon exotic.
you can also fill one of the slot with a mystic forgestone but it counts as a random weapon.
You can do the same with exotic weapons for an increased chance, although the precursor dropping chance are very small and for some reason there are some people reporting to get lots of those and some people who never had one in 3 years of gaming

buy or craft rares 75-80 and since you want sword stick to 1h swords then flush away

i used 4 rare greatsword in the mystic toilet and got 1 rare rifle so there is a small chance is not the weapon of choice i guess?

only happen to me when i put 3 of same kind and another kind i get random like 3 staffs and a trident that look like a staff on the picture.
So maybe you had 3 greatsword and a sword

yeah maybe it happened only once after all and maybe i was just distracted.

The best possible chance if you are going to use the forge is to use exotics. Only use level 75-80 exotics. It’s more expensive, but you have 100% chance of getting an exotic back. The odds are better at getting one just by default because you are wholly removing the odds of getting a rare back were you to use rares.

My suggestion: Don’t forge. Take your time and play the game and save all your money and buy it off the TP. Doesn’t sound like you want to play the market, so playing and saving is the sure route to getting it. It’s worth it to do that way. You could dump two or more times the amount of gold into the forge with nothing to show for it.
