Guild Wars 2

So, my friend got an Xbox 360 controller for his PC and found that GW2 is a lot of fun to play on it. It felt more like an action-RPG and he said he would never go back.

I have a gamepad, but it’s a Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710. It basically is a Xbox 360 Controller.

Now, if anyone else plays with a gamepad, I have some questions:

1) How do I hook up my gamepad with GW2?
2) What’s the best button setup for the following characters: Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, and Guardian?

I’m currently using Pinnacle Game Profiler program for my Xbox 360 controller to play GW2. The program is $9.99 and they have all setups for all kinds of pc game. You can setup the buttons how you like it too. attachment is my setup. If you don’t want to pay you can go with a different program such as Xpadder but with this program you’ll have to set up everything by yourself. I decide to go with Pinnacle because it works with SweetFX and Xpadder doesn’t.

Thanks. Question: How do I make it so if I hold down a trigger button it’ll change which keys the Y X B A activate?

I’m using XPadder… I don’t think I can afford to buy another program.

Click on the button and a keyboard screen shows up and click on advanced and input keys as in my picture below.

So as above, the X button is skill 1 and if you hold it for .20 of a second it will do skill 7.

I meant holding LT to swap what the Y X B A buttons do.

To do that Click the 2 on the lower left hand corner when you open xppader up and then just input what skill goes where to the button. But remember to switch to 1 on the lower left hand corner of xppader first before opening gw2 to make it work.

Unfortunately, you have to map it to right click and mouse move, which does not always work in the way an ideal camera control would. Still, it’s pretty decent.

Here, do this to all the 4 directions on the right joystick.
